Thanks for that....looks ideal.
Think it was Adam that pointed me at CC Chargers in the first place!
Try valves open first and if you need more noise the decat would be the next step.
I had secondary decat and straight through pipes on the 4200 and it was louder than the decat and valves open on the AM.
Well done on sale and good luck with a replacement.

There is nothing wrong with a stock 4.3 but a few mods can make it better - Bamford Rose are not cheap but they have a great reputation and their upgrades enhance both the car and its value

Thanks Adam. Good to know what you did on yours and it does sound epic....it is a V12 remember though!

I agree that I'll get the remote set as that is na simple decision. The exhaust changes need to be right as Jon is going through. I've got the 4200 one wrong as too loud I think. Might need back boxes back on that possibly with secondary decat left in place but insulated xpipe.

Yes the TVR is a fair bit smaller but I guess the Vantage is a smidge smaller than a 4200 but not much. Great size I think.
In length, yes you are right. But it is a fair bit wider than a 42!

This was who I bought from. Took me 5 minutes to fit. Having done one I could do it in less than half the time now.
He has various options for different models. He is an Am owner and club member. Spoke to him on the phone and real nice genuine guy and stuff is first class quality

So am I right in saying that this cheaper one is just no memory?

Then this one is the same but adds the last setting auto memory?

Congrautlations Dean,

I lost in the amount of buyers you had...but I'm glad you have sold it and are moving into another part of the automotive world. Hope to still see you on here.

Yes. Mine remembers the mode it was in when you last turned off the engine.

Ditto.
As far as I am aware the Vantage will default to "sport" (valves open) mode automatically on start up (that might be a figment of my imagination though) and then they close until you exceed 3500rpm etc.
So it MAY be that you can go for the basic switch and manually open the valves after start up if you wanted that. I may have misread it though.
I lashed out an extra tenner to get the same as Adam. In practice I will close and open the valves on every journey to stop them hopefully from sticking open or shut. Heaven forbid they stuck shut! I don't have neighbours .
Main dealer told me the key fob and system from CC is very similar to the AM one.....just a lot less.
Oh and if you want to update the out of date Sat Nav system it is easy done by buying on the bay of doom the Volvo equivalent for about £30.
I will pm you a link if you get to that point. Think AM can do it for you but not for £30.

Few things.

Firstly, congrats. No doubt you got a good deal in this market...and the fact you always seem to get a good deal! It's a great car and, in my view, better than a 4200 in numerous ways.

On start up, when cold, the car starts with valves open. Sounds great!

You could change this using the switch Adam has mentioned.

The switch in either guise is definitely worth getting.

There are no secondary cats on a 2006 4.3. The best change you can make is to buy 200 Cell Sport Cats. It honestly sounds epic. Keep the standard rear back box and use the switch to lessen the noise as required. The noise above 4.5k revs is simply outstanding. Below that the low growl is great.

I recommend the RS Fabrications 200 Cell Cats based on the orchestra they produce. Not overly high pitched or raspy as done others.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Andy. I'll not count my chickens yet but hopefully in a few days it will be done.

I've seen an AM dealer that has stock on the new lights at £1k for the pair which seems pretty good.

I'll leave any mods until I see how the stock car is. I'm hoping and expecting a stock car to be fine but we shall see.

I've been in a 4.3 with and without the Bamford Rose exhaust power upgrade and it truly transforms the car. It adds about 30 plus bhp and you can feel it and hear it. The exhaust system Aston put on the 4.3 didn't let the car breath and a good exhaust upgrade will correct this. It's like they hampered the power so to not effect the DB9. Don't get me wrong it's still a great car and the only car I truly yearn to own. Jealous and over the moon for you. The Banford Rose isn't cheap at around 5.5k but everyone who has had it wouldn't go back but there are cheaper as if you look at the other two sites on my previous thread.

Well...I am spread very thin at the moment and just do not have the time.

I will gladly help with the tech but what you need is a nucleus of members to drive the forum or it will just wither.

You also have drive it hard and rally the members to attend events to make it work.

Yeah, I get that, Matt. You work bloody hard to make this work, and I'm sure your early-days efforts were a right ball-ache. I'd love to take it on but just couldn't commit the time, energy or talent.

One possibility is to create an Aston / Imposters section under The Lounge, Technical and so on. It would certainly provide a home for related chat and likely attract some new members. The risk would be that it would dilute the strong Maserati (and affiliated marques) brand that SM has, and hence make SM less of a destination for owners, would-be owners and general lovers of all things Maserati. As you say, unless someone is willing to bust a gut to make it work it might add little value, only clutter.
