Spinning dash clock

Enquiring about a car and the auction house said the dash clock was spinning round extra fast.

Known issue? Indicative of the battery about to go? Car is known to have a possibly failing heater matrix. Could that be the cause and indicative of more serious electrical gremlins?

Maybe the adjustment button is just stuck in and needs a prod to release it again.

That was my first thought. Rather an annoying one. Spray some contact cleaner in there/work/smack it!

At worse a second hand clock, say 50 quid at the most!

I had this on a QP5 just before the battery failed. New battery, never happened again......
