Lockdown has its benefits, the Spyder is now in the process of UK registration, having been a reliable companion in the middle east! After short investigation of a noise below it transpires the left bank primary cat is shot. The benefits of a residing in a hot country has its benefits all exhaust sections were off for investigation with out a hiccup of rust. I tried to post the photo results though the file sizes are too large. No auto resize??
So will get the right cat gutted and fit 200 cel cat to replace each secondary cat as from reading this has been successful for others

Photos worked out now ;) question, no issues with the primary 02 sensors even though input = output?

When I bought my GS last year, I found that it had the pre cats gutted, but they had welded in a replacement section of pipe to actually replace the chamber, apparently this is because leaving an empty chamber, which is larger than the pipework can cause issues, They had left the 02 sensors as was, which I thought had to be wrong as that would mean no pre and after cat readings, so I had my primary cats replaced with 200cel sports cats, and got them to move the secondary 02 sensor to after the new sports cat, as you will find the likes of Larini do, Now it wont pass mot emissions, so have had to buy set of standard cats to put back in for mot time, (will be using different garage for mot next year;)), but I know lots on here have fitted sports cats with no issues

Get them fitted at an exhaust place that also does MOT’s, you might find life becomes much simpler at MOT time ;)

So I assume the rear o2 sensors are long enough to make that happen to the rear? That's a real bummer and hassle of having to have both sets notwithstanding cost. Can't you get to the bottom of why it's failing on current setup, seemingly there are other factors, fueling etc did it fail in idle ?

Yes, the wires for the rear sensors are long enough, there is still an underlying problem, get a CEL about every 200 miles, but I'm just enjoying driving it at the moment, here's the thread when it failed MOT, post 17 shows the results https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/oh-no-failed-the-mot.30765/

"in the process of UK registration"...

Be aware, DVLA have a massive backlog due to skeleton staff. I've had a V55 form in with them to register an imported motorcycle for 7 weeks and heard nothing. I did send the form and associated documentation (which can be considered valuable) as registered post so I know they've had it.

Mine is bog standard . So-called US spec (EU4- cats in headers and second cats post O2 sensors...)
I came in @1.017.. (limit 1.030)
Changed out the back boxes for 'MILDLY' modified, (emphasis on the mildly ) and came in @1.028! A knats ruddy cock from failure. You're not telling me that back boxes affect emissions...
Its a rubbish test to save face whilst not saving the planet. It proves feck-all but is a loop we all have to jump through ....
Careful finding a quickfit fitter to do your cheap MOT- they might just fry your LSD in a brake test...! o_O

Update - after 9 weeks the registration I submitted is finally complete. Don't worry too much about wasted tax though, DVLA did "the right thing" and have set the tax date to 1st July (this month) instead of the 1st June that I had asked for on the V55 form recognizing their own delay.
