Hi all,

Planning to have a custom steering wheel spacer made for the Quattroporte. Anyone know if the steering column is the same as same period Fiat/Lancia/Alfa with 37 splines and 24mm outside diameter nut ?

You don't need to fabricate a new steering boss, you can just add a spacer between the steering wheel boss and the steering wheel.
Plenty available to buy online at various lengths.

I got one of these (no affiliation, photo added for clarity)

Did you use that on a QP with airbag ? I need a spacer that I can attach the steering wheel to using the single original 24mm nut - not a ring of 6mm bolts.

This is the type. It's bolted on steering column using original nut and then the new short steering axle end is screwed onto spacer which again original steering wheel attaches to.

Ah apologies, didn't realise it was an airbag wheel.

No worries :) Was it a Ghibli ? Do you remember the size of steering column axle ?

I've thought of changing the wheel to something sportier and then use a simpler spacer but I quite like the original QP wooden thing. It suits the car :) I can't find any info anywhere about these steering columns, nor the splines in the steering wheel. Looks like I would have to take of my own and have a look if I can't find any info soon.

I suspect many of the BiTurbo cars have the same steering column axle size.
