Sorry, not the Stones version but the pain in the butt version of switches in my car.
I'm currently trying to re-finish some of these switches and I'm at the point where I'm ready to try my idea on a 'real' switch. The big question is, does anyone have a redundant switch that I could buy to test my idea. A window, msp, radio button or similar would be great. My car is 2004 4200 CC.

Hi. Unfortunately not got a spare button to offer however trying to work out what is the best method for refinishing my buttons too. Especially around printing or reproduction of the window graphics? Been toying with idea of buying borrowing either.an engraver or Uv ink printer. Has anyone had any success or otherwise with either methods?

I've recently purchased a laser engraver and managed to 'engrave' some of the button symbols onto cardboard at the same size that they appear on the buttons/switches. My problem is, when trying it on strips of white plastic, which i'd sprayed with satin black paint, the laser seems to burn the black into the plastic beneath, although it is a good representation of the original image. I need a paint/medium that is burnt off by the laser but leaves no residue on the plastic beneath. Still in the 'suck-it-and-see' test phase. Not being brave enough to destroy one of my own buttons I was looking for a 'donor' button/switch.

I recently used :
https://www.carplastix.com/
For all the center console buttons & window buttons. Took 9 days from sending to return by courier.
They completely recover the buttons, so they will never go sticky again.
They did an excellent job and i would recommend them.
