Many congrats - you won't regret it for a moment. Winter tyres due to go on mine shortly to keep up the fun optimisation (lockdown permitting) over the colder months :)

Good choice - winter tyres have just gone on to mine as well (not a Strad :) )

I'm not going to bother fitting my winter tyres this year. I did last year, but didn't use the car once. So this time I'll SORN the Strad at the end of this month and bring it back into play in April.

Do you guys change tyres or do you have a spare set of wheels?

I have a winter rear set which i fitted last year. Makes a big difference in cold weather driving and spares a bit of life for the summer rears that are very expensive. But with lockdown as others said how much will i be using the car this year. I m not going to SORN it but not much use either.

I change tyres

Ditto - tyres alone; they go on now and generally stay on until early April which maximises the likelihood of use, esp on sunny days :) . Sourcing them wasn't easy and from memory the rears had to come from Germany...Michelin Alpins.

not "down" here. I have become worse (lazier/stupider/more of a snob?) about getting the car wet and dirty. To be honest the rain only coincides with a eventual nice-car outing 2 or 3 times a year here, so I just avoid.

if the underbody and chassis parts were not pre-coated in brine before a wafer-thin coating of moisture wicking paint from the factory, I would probably take it out more when damp

Put winter tyres on our cars last year and sods law, didnt need them.....

I presume you mean you didn't use the car rather than didn't need the tyres? Mine go on when average temperatures drop below 10c and go back on when average tyres go above 10c.

I’m around there too with my GC. Went to Wells, Brancaster, Holkham many times in the summer but SORN’d for winter now. Perhaps we can meet up with the cars next spring when the COVID madness is abating! View attachment 77712

Now that’s a bloody good idea. We’re a way south in north Essex, but - in days of allowed travel - venture north fairly frequently. I think our last weekend away was just a few miles from Holkham. Lovely part of the world.

Who invited you?

Just kidding, hello mate, hope you’re well.

Count me in too, usually have weekends there in spring and autumn. Love the area and only about an hour away. Sometimes just go for the day. Best beaches in England and the pubs aren't bad either.

Would like that. We were hoping for a night away in Cromer again before Lockdown 3.0
