Strange revs

Hi All.
2015 GT-S. I've had the car since Novber, but due to work, I've only just had a chance to spend some time with the car. When I accelerate in any gear, the revs rise, then immediately drop a couple of rpm before picking up again, all's fine after that. It's as if the car is "riding the clutch" a little before it decides to put the power down. I've put the car in high gear at low revs and nailed the pedal to see if is some sort of clutch wear issue, but it pulls fine. It's not a major issue, but it sounds terrible, I just wondered if this is normal, if it's a potential problem on its way, or if there's anyway of "resetting" the gear box
Cheers

Thanks for the replies. It's a granturismo sport with paddle shift. Is clutch adjustment something that any mechanic can do, or is it a dealer only fix?
To be honest, I don't know if this happens in normal drive mode or just when I manually change gears (always use manual) but I'll give it a try. I also have an extended warranty until 2020 so is it something that's covered under it providing any clutch work was originally done by a Maserati dealer?
Thanks again

It cant be the clutch as it doesnt have one. Its an Auto box with paddle shifter override.

As Auto boxes are not really a known thing on here, I would say its a dealer/specialist job.

If it's an auto it sounds like the torque converter is slipping which it is supposed to do up to certain revs and then lock up at certain revs but it shouldn't be noticeable. I'd get it to a specialist or MD.

Sounds like the lock up clutch within the torque converter has failed. There’s a few reasons for this, most will require gearbox removal.

Get it to an auto transmission specialist.

Well I've had 2 opinions on my issue from different specialists, who both could've taken my hard earned and they say the slip before the lockup (techies ) is fine and I possibly notice it more because I've not driven this type of gearbox before.
Thanks for all the info, much appreciated.
Mind at rest - happy days

That’s good news. Hopefully spring is round the corner and you can use it some more.

afaik the small drops (200 or 300rpm) after next gear is normal on automatic transmission , helps fuel consumption , it is the torque converter locking up...
