Don't laugh, but I've been watching Blake's 7 on Forces TV.....

Yes, the cardboard sets move more than the cast do and the special effects are sub-Dr.Who level, but it has its charms! It's quite the antidote to some of the po-faced lifeless dramas and pointless reality bllcks we see these days.

You can see these episodes on YT. Have to say. There was a lot more suspense in the case of the 'pipes emergency', than a whole episode of Vigil. And the drama just kept on coming. About half supplied by the boat itself.
I thought these Trafalgar class boats had been decommissioned years ago. Thirty years service is an awfully long time
for an SSN. Going to sea in one of these old boats in particular, definitely requires a massive pair of cojones.
She had a colourful career HMS Trenchant - S91 but most of which we'll never get to hear about.
Our son is an MEO and now based at Devonport. His last patrol was on Talent and prior to that trained on Trenchant.

You must be very proud of him Mike. I hope that he's really enjoying his career.
I imagine that the submarine service is uniquely challenging, amongst all the armed forces.
I think it ought to be mandatory that to be eligible for a ministerial office, an M.P. must first have served
at least a commission in the Reserves, so they have some concept of the demands they put on our service people
and their families and critically, hold up the politician's end of the Military Covenant.

Watched the final season of Goliath on Amazon Prime today. Brilliant. Just Brilliant.
Thanks for this. Been binge watching since :)

However, whilst seasons one and two were good.
Season three has completely lost the plot.
Warlocks? Horrible story arc. Ham acting.
You know a show is out of ideas, when the dream sequences appear.
I've given up half way through the series.
Hopefully season four is a return to form.

Yeah - final season is a return to the David v Goliath lawsuit battle. Probably lower budget and all the better for it. Dream sequences can be a bit clumsy, but I think they use them to fill in blanks which appear as seasons develop and they think oh **** we need to explain this that or t’other. Love the characters and they’ll be what I miss most.

Homecoming on Amazon prime stars Julia Roberts. My missus said let’s give it a go as she doesn’t do **** stuff. If you love film history, it’s a great piece of work. 10 short episodes. So much to admire and the idea/theme/story is intriguing. Cinematography is a homage to Hitchcock/De Palma/Kubrick. There’s something about it which makes me think it could have made an Oscar winning film but the money seems to be in series/seasons, so it’s a bit stretched out. The score is brilliant.

Started watching Cocaine Cowboys on Netflix. It's brilliant!

So funny, and considering the amount of cocaine these guys were importing, I'm amazed they got away with what they did!
I'm 4 episodes in, and as a documentary it's up there with one fo the best I've seen.

Would make a brilliant film!
