But I have a mate in Hull who had a black XR3i And another in Bolton who had a blue XR3i Cab.

So do does that not suggest that they were a popular car as opposed to conforming to a stereotype?

And don't forget your mates with those Golf GTi's with body coloured bumpers, front grilles with the spot lights stuck in and those awful plastic body coloured bits of sh*te you fitted on to your wiper arms!

That was defiantly 1980's Essex, there's no accounting for taste!

My mate when he used to be a car valeter.
Lived in Manchester all his life. I think this must have been taken for a joke. We’re these ever cool?:)
Especially in white, full body kit and aftermarket grill lights.
