Switching from GTS to Ghibli or Levante

It looks like I'm gonna have to trade my GTS for a Ghibli or Levante. I'm switching jobs and will be doing 40 miles a day 3-5 times a week. I can't quite decide which at the moment - if costs were the same I think I'd probably go for the Levante. Prices considered, it seems like the Ghibli is a better deal. Anyone else made the switch? Any non-Maserati alternatives in the £25k to £45k range? I'd like something relatively economical but still nice looking and isn't going to seem like a piece of sh*t after owning a GTS! :)

A Cayenne S diesel is an awesome car. 2013 onwards start at £30k, £40k buys a belter.

I do 40 mile round trip 5 days a week in my Ghibli. Lovely place to be. Its now at 81k miles and apart from an issue with new discs warping, and headlight washers, its been great.

For outright pace you could try something else but overall package of pace (relative!), cabin, looks etc. the Ghibli wins.

Is the swap just down to miles or are the rear doors required too?

The purchase price, loss on the GT and depreciation on the four door cars may be far greater than any fuel saving.

I do 30 mile round trip 5 days a week in the QP, it works out at about 6500 miles a year and £60-£70 A week in fuel, which I stomach as the Maserati is such a special thing to be in...
As with Safrane and Dicky, enjoy the GTS! It's not monster miles...

Think I was secretly hoping you were gonna advise me to keep the GTS! :D The swap is indeed mostly due to miles - although in part I was thinking it might be about the right time to change. My GTS is a 2009. Maybe I'll give the commute a go for a few months and see if I can upgrade to a later one!

Thanks for the info regarding the Ghibli. Good to know they're holding up well with daily use! Certainly seems the most sensible option at the moment! If servicing and parts were signifcantly cheaper over a GTS I'd say it was a done deal. Seems they are comparable from what I've read.
That Merc is nice but I definitely lean more towards the Ghibli.

Porche Panamara is another option....

Oh, to answer one of the other questions....4 seats are required but not necessariy 4 doors.

How about an Alfa Giulia Quad. Apparently the bloke at work (who has one, obviously!) reckons on a run with cylinder deactivation that they are not bad on fuel. That and 510 BHP!
