I viewed it yesterday, won’t be buying.
Doesn't surprise me Dicky as didn't get the impression it would be good enough or make sense numbers wise for you to get it good enough to retail and still turn a profit.

I suspect it is a lower rent car and needs too much spent to get it better. Even then it is still worth way less than the best cars so makes less sense. I also suspect the seller wants too much for it.

It could make sense for someone like me or a hobbiest or someone who could improve over time. Or just keep it as a lower rent lower cost MCV as it is.

I just got a feeling it was a little less loved and the corrosion thing seemed to have a nagging doubt in my mind.

Shame that an MCV is not snapped up and wanted but I guess there will always be examples in demand and some less so.

It was always my quandry in weighing up my 4200 against this MCV. Of course the MCV is a better car to the 4200 to most. However as my 4200 is one of the best out there anything less than the best is always going to be hard to swap into. Or as Ewan said before an example I would never likely find again so it makes sense to keep my 4200 and let this MCV pass by.

As Jon knows in this case I think a top end standard GS is better than a less than so MCV at the same possibly even less money as it seems at the moment.

It's quite strange what seems to be an acceptable level of rust in cars there in the uk.

I've not bought many cars from uk... Maybe 10 or less... But almost without exception they've got a healthy dose of corrosion to deal with.

I've even had one dealer selling a 968 proudly declare zero rust, and send me a large pile of photos of the cars undercarriage.... Exposing what to me looks to be a significant amount of rust. He was not trying to hoodwink me... It just seems that the perception of 'little or no rust' is very different in the uk than in oz.

As for that mcv.... What a shame... They're rear beasts and especially at that price point. Quite surprised someone wasnt willing to take the plunge.

Me? Nope - one Maserati is enough in terms of the love, care and attention they need even when you have a good one (and especially if you want to keep it that way). I have other things on my radar right now. That said I was tempted by the low mileage Strad recently as it did fit my brief for one (other than less than impressive service history - but 2-Seater, not black or white, one owner, low miles ticked all the other boxes).

If I was taken with this particular MC-V I would have bid on it when I first saw it outside Dick Lovett 4(?) years ago and was told it could be for sale. I still think it would be an OK buy for someone with their eyes wide open who otherwise would not be able to get into one. But I have not viewed it as it currently stands so that is not a recommendation :)

Ebay is sometimes just used as a window to display, with sales carried out outwith. I wouldn't read to much into it not selling on ebay.
