Not sure of the accuracy of this, for just uk cars, but blue seems to be the most common with 10.
4 in black, and just 1 in grey.
If a particular colour/mileage combo comes up for sale, with such low numbers, you may only get one chance.....

Also need to consider that (if I recall correctly) at least three of the UK cars have been exported to the Southern Hemisphere.

I’m not sure about grey car. I don’t think that’s correct. But possibly there could be one in silver.
I have (well, had) a list somewhere, so I’ll see if I can find it.

From my experiences working on cars from that part of the world when in NZ that is a very good point chaps.

Definitely 3 cars have been exported, I know the whereabouts of 10 of the possible 11/12 U.K. cars. The car at Autoficcina belongs to @hilts uk; and is a beauty.

Unless it’s Blu Victory and it is a LHD US import which they also maintain for another Esher resident.

As with any car it's about the price someone is prepared to pay, it's a rare car and might need some work and if the seller and buyer can come to an arrangement it should sell, however if there are unrealistic views on either side it will hang around for a long time. When we were moving here we found a house with a 10 car garage, the owner was asking €350k but we offered €310k and then went up to €315k but they wouldn't sell. The house just sold, the owner dropped it to €335k and talking to the agent who we know he accepted €295k. He could have had €315k 12 months ago.

We bought the one we have for mid €250s and even when we build a garage we will be under €300k.

Agreed Andy. The amount of cars I have offered on with early initial sensible and fair offers. To be pretty much laughed at saying no I can't sell it for that. I reply OK don't sell then no skin off my nose.

Then weeks and months or longer later they either sell it for less or come back with a counter offer which I still say no to as my first offer was fair and final. Sometimes they accept the price sometimes pride gets in the way and they don't sell or won't sell to you at any price.

I am just trying to be fair and buy at the right price to me and am open and honest about this day one. I decide what it is worth to me and make the offer to take it there and then no hassle quick sale.

Most always think they can get more and invariably they will if they want to wait for that one buyer however long it takes. While also getting a ton of time wasters to deal with in the mean time.

My Chimaera 500 was even weirder. I offered a price day one about £2k less than advertised price. It was more than fair IMHO. He didn't accept said he had higher offers blah blah so I said no worries it is my first and final offer and stands for 7 days only. I then scrubbed it off my list and went on the search for another.

We kept in touch and after maybe 2-3 months he came back to me and said he would accept my original offer. I said sorry that was for 7 days and doesn't exist anymore. We stayed in touch some more the market softened and buyers dried up and we agreed a deal at £5k under original advertised price. I didn't plan to do this or take the rise or advantage of the seller. Just how the market changed over maybe 5-6 months. Out of spring into autumn.

So he was worse off by £3k because he didn't accept the first offer. Sometimes a bird in the hand and all! I don't get some people sometimes.

On the flip side I have sold cars for less than I had hoped and took the bird in the hand. Sometimes a sale at a little less is better than no sale at all. Especially when most cars depreciate over time.

First rule of selling (anything) -

"Your first profit is your best profit"

Even if not as much as you would have liked you have still made a profit (or maybe only broken even), had the pleasure of ownership and can then use the money for something else and make that work for you again and perhaps do better. Otherwise you have an asset sat there potentially costing you money and potentially depreciating.

We just sold our DB9 and made a reasonable profit but figured out we would have made more if we had bought £30K worth of gold at the same time we bought the car (and did a full 4 year service etc), but where is the fun in that? :)

I don't buy the colour debate on the MC-V it is a rare and desirable thing in any hue but there is still a £10K spend on this one without digging too deep which may reveal yet more. The opening bid seems more than fair assuming they will sell at that.

I was reading this in the voice of Swiss Tony...

And regarding buying Gold there's lots of fun in it, just ask Wattie

My issues is I guess I think I would pay £30k and it is likely worth that no more. However I'm told I can't sell the 4200 and not sure it makes sense to. Not sure it makes sense to have both I won't drive much though. Again I could use that 30k to invest/trade and make more than the MCV will.

Would still be a nice thing to have in the garage though. Tough 1st world decisions.

You don't always need to take the highest price. I know of a few that took a lower offer as the preferred where the cars going to end up.

Very true and I bought the MX55 plate Blue 4200 a while back from a dealer at less than he wanted as we got on well and I think he liked me so he accepted a price I'm sure he wouldn't have with others. Also he knew I loved my Maserati's he he was happy where it was.going.

Also bought our current house in a similar way at the very top of our budget over £100k less than it was up for. Sat down and had tea with the older lady owner and chatted about all her time here looking at all her photos for hours.

I was just honest and explained I would love to buy the house. Also wife and I would love our kids to grow up here but I don't have the asking price. Even at £100k less than asking we were pushing ourselves way outside the financial comfort zone.

She ended up accepting our offer and we have loved being here and have done her proud I hope.

I guess it just depends on your size/shape as I find them supremely comfortable. Same with lightweight seats in an Aston, some love them (I do) and won't buy a car without them and others cannot get on with them

It really depends of your morphology.
For me they are comfortable (not supremely comfortable but enough to do 350 miles without needing help at destination to get out of the car), but some passengers don't seem to think so.
I think they lack ajustements, and the small plastic handle allowing the bucket seat to be tilted doesn't look very solid. And I know at least 2 cars with the slider blocked (and you can't unmount it when the seat can't slide).
Oh, and it's not so easy to go in or out of the car with these seats if you are not fit.

As for the car, it's a hoot to drive, maybe a little bit too low.

For me, what makes it special is mainly the blue carbon and the little flag, I could make without the seats.

My point of view is that 30k is quite cheap for this kind of car, and if you buy it to drive and not to make a profit when the time comes to sell it, it's not a bad deal.
I bought mine last year for 33.5k, it was the us import who was on ebay for such a long time. The car was not perfect, bubbles on the steering wheel and airbag panel (easy to repair with glue), rims had seen better days (not expensive at all to repair), I had to replace some rubbers on the suspensions and did a major service (nothing difficult on the GS). Istill have to take car of the small bubbles under the left tail light.
The car came with new tires, new battery, clutch wear was only 32% and drives perfectly. All in all, I think I made a good buy.

By the way, there was a limited edition in Japan (about 35 cars), ordered in april 07 by Cornes to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the collaboration with maserati, with the same flag on the aisle/the blue carbon everywhere/big flappy paddles but without the seats and the front spoiler, named the 10th anniversary, it's a special place to be too!

Does the steering rack make such a difference to these? How are they different exactly?? Worth an upgrade??
