Morning all. WFH (as per the rules) today. Lots to do as well.

I say lots. I reckon I can get it all done by lunchtime and have the afternoon in front of the tv! :p

Good morning everyone, early start for a walk to the doctors. ECG data logger fitted and a long walk back via Chinthurst Hill.

Shameful scenes in America. Trump is clearly responsible.

Hello everyone!
What's cooking?

Back to work this week is fun so far. We have good things happening and this afternoon I have two customer meetings scheduled that should be quite exciting.
It was lovely being able to pay ourselves a bit of extra dividend at the start of the week, seeing the fruits of our labour since August starting to pay off - literally. Although... two cars to MOT this month and the Mas and house insurance to pay. That should eat up the extra cash. Tax return looking reasonable for a few bob of refund that'll help with the bills.

Stevie's Bakery business is now getting a Deli to go with it... I tried my hand at making some gravlax and then smoked salmon and cheese. Very pleased with the results, so more to come!

@midlifecrisis - you need to change your handle to @oldmancrisis

HapPea Thursday!

Morning all, early start as I nipped to the office to pick up a desk to set my daughter up with a home office so she can teach her classes remotely.

Heaven only knows why teachers at her school can’t just teach remotely from their empty classrooms, but alas that won’t be allowed.

We now have 5 adults working from home, place is beginning to feel like a Regus office rental location.

I have been reading your position and I am pretty sure they can't do what they are doing. If there is a vacancy yes they have to offer it to colleagues who are at risk off redundancy but it would also have to also be advertised for anyone to apply. The people at risk would still need to be interviewed for the position and get that on merit unless if it was maybe a like for like position but promotion is not like for like. If the person who was not at risk was better qualified then they would get the position through the interview process......If not then there you could have a legitimate grievance. Proving it would be hard mind you. if making colleagues redundant you have to offer them the chance to apply for positions currently available in the company but that doesn't mean they will get it. I know this as we have just gone through the same thing and speaking to my HR manager yesterday she also said she didn't think they could do what they are doing to you.
That's pretty interesting, thank you Andy. Will PM

Yeah, five working here now in various rooms around the place. Was nice to get out on site this morning to fit a couple of nets in the sunshine. Back in the office and SAD lamp to maximise the day. If anyone finds a spare mojo moping about, send it back to me please.

Be a bit early to tell. 1-2 weeks is more reasonable depending on how bad the situation has become.

C

As C says early days but just being out of the house today was a help I’m sure.

Anyway, dinner conversation this evening with the bubble (as usual it descended into vulgarity = perfectly normal in a Ford household). I was however reminded of this wonderful scetch which I believe was first told on TV by Billy Connolly:

HRH Anne, the Princess Royal, is visiting the regiment of which she is Colonel-in-Chief and goes on a tour of the base hospital. She sees a patient in one bed and goes over to him, and he turns red and tries to hide beneath the bedspread; but the Princess is having none of this and says to the RSM escorting her "What is this patient's ailment, sergeant-major?" -- "Haemorrhoids, ma'am!" says the RSM smartly.
She turns to the patient and says "Don't be embarrassed, you silly man: in equestrian circles we know all about this condition, trust me. What is the treatment?" -- "Wire brush and Dettol, ma'am!" says the sergeant-major.
"I see," says HRH, and to the patient in the bed: "And what is your ambition, soldier?" -- "To make a speedy recovery and return to the service of my Queen and country, ma'am!" says the soldier. "Very good, carry on," says the Princess.
The next patient turns a still deeper shade of crimson and lies there paralysed with embarrassment. "What is this patient's ailment?" HRH asks the RSM. -- "Syphilis, ma'am. Self-inflicted injury. No sympathy at all!"
"I see," says HRH. "Well, now, single men in barracks and all that, as Kipling says. No use judging the man harshly. And what is the treatment?" -- "Wire brush and Dettol, ma'am!" says the RSM.
"And what is your ambition, soldier?" -- "To make a speedy recovery and return to the service of my Queen and country, ma'am!" says the soldier. "Very good, carry on," says the Princess.
The third patient looks less embarrassed, and the Princess Royal addresses him directly, "And what is the matter with you, soldier?" -- "Tonsillitis, ma'am!" says the soldier.
"How very distressing," says the Princess. "And the treatment is..." -- "Wire brush and Dettol, ma'am!" says the RSM.
"And what is your ambition, soldier?" -- "To get to the wire brush and Dettol before those two dirty bastards, ma'am!" says the soldier

Morning all. I figure I'll have done about 37 hours on Teams this week by the end of play. Fortunately next week should be a little less frenetic.

PT over Zoom in a few minutes.

Happy Friday!

Morning! Been full-on so far today. Things should ease off a bit after about 2pm. Hopefully. I'm cream-crackered.

Morning all, Easier day today, really just MOTing the van and ar$ing around at the unit whilst they do it next door for me. Woke up feeling dreadful after a really rough night with some horrible thoughts keeping me awake/waking me up. Not like me to have night demons so I'll have to figure that out I suppose.

Have fun all...
