Love the sideline, but I fear the Leffe has impaired my ability to read the rest of the article :(

Yeah, managed it in the end :) The answer is, at a guess, a little from column A and a little from column B. Speaking from experience I suspect the Maser is massively under-valued. No experience of Aston ownership, but I suspect a touch of over value. I expect to be proven wrong ;)

Although I'm a complete rookie to exotic car ownership...I've learned so much! The Maserati in my humble opinion is undervalued.
Even though I've spent a boat load to fix mine up....I'd do it again in a heart beat!
As I see these cars as art, and art is a personal thing, it all just means we are art connoisseur's of this beautiful marque!!

As per the article; the Astons are overvalued (massively IMO) for a car that is, apparently fairly sh!t to drive and the Maserati is undervalued. The James Bond factor is probably an issue with the DB5 but that shows how gullible people can be. More money than sense. True, the DB5 is a good looking car but so is the 3500. Personally, I would have the Maserati as I would prefer to be regarded as shrewd rather than rich and stupid. And it's probably better to drive.

Harry Metcalf wrote in this months EVO how he has always been disapointed in the early Astons.

I am surprised to have people ask openly 'Who's car is that' of a group, and then feel sort of odd having to say 'It's mine' Still, the result has always been positive.

Tubber, I have to agree. Happy to spend what it takes. So far less than I expected, but that will probably change ;)

I had a DB6 new in 69. Back upto Newport Pagnell every other month. The engine was lumpy, the gearbox was slow and agricultural. It topped out at 135 max and handled like a boat.

Nostalgia would say 'lets do it again' common sense says ....not bloody likely.

Trouble with pre 98 masers is they were fragile and rusted if not hothoused. Radical yes but money pits for the romantics among us. I can see a good 3200 being on the up once the economy kicks off.....quick....exotic....and pretty.

I think it's fair to say our cars are more of an obsession than a hobby! ;)

Will be very interesting to see how the 3200, 4200 and Gransport appreciate or depreciate as the years go by. The new ranges including the 4x 4 will have an impact I am sure, depends how well they are received.
