We will need to consult the new rules before we know whether or not we can say that continental coppers are bent or not.

However, you will recall the Police Summer Ball that was held at the Rigat Park Hotel in Loret, hosted by the owner, Felip Rigat, that just also happens to be a massive petrol head.
But I'm sure that's a coincidence

Ha, me too. Got done by a Peugeot 406 mi16 at 165mph! I was following a Ferrari 456 and happened to be behind him when we were swapping places through the run. My first thought was “I’m going to be on the front page of The Sun”.

They offered me a 10,000 franc fine - the maximum - or a trip to the local gendarmerie to await a date with a judge. It was Friday and the hearing would be Monday so that was car impounded and me in some wee jail for the weekend.

I split it between 3 credit cards!!!

According to my neighbor who is a Gendarme they are already onto the English way of thinking so it might not be so clear cut chaps.

Not at all.
We all think Plod or Le Plod are stupid but they certainly aren't.
I'm known in our village as the English guy with interesting cars as the majority are very French.

The majority of the people in your village are very French? Is that common in France?

Or do you mean that you're cars are very French? In which case that sounds like cultural appropriation, and I find that quite offensive.
