I've driven both the auto and the MC and, for me, the MC wins it.
You get more torque interrupt with the MC at anything more than light throttle applications and so it isn't as refined as the Auto, but I find the MC to be a much more involving drive.
That said, drive them both and decide, not everyone likes the same thing!

Driven them both, well in fact all three if you count the 4.2 as well.
The MC-Shift is in a different league altogether from the Auto. It totally changes the personality of the car and the driver involvement.
It really depends on:
*What you want the car for; wafting about or actually driving
*If you want the option of being able to switch from waft mobile to snarling sports GT
*If you want to be able to have more control over what the car is doing
*How big you want your grin to be
