Hopefully picking my Speedmaster up on Friday after a very expensive service.

Actually looking forward to getting it back as good as new.

Lucky you.
Took my Zenith into local August 3rd. Returned with slipping hands November. Heard today that Zenith won't have replacement hands until April.
How many months is that?
They'll temporarily fix original hands while awaiting.

Never understand why they replace the hands. What’s wrong with the originals? How are they a wear item?

Makes you wonder how these things happen. Suppose some slip though in reality but they shouldn’t.

Im booked in for 12:30 tomorrow to collect so will have a thorough inspection in the shop before I walk out

This arrived today- beautifully packaged and finished. 2 Quick release bracelets. Titanium.
For a different looking, inexpensive daily it’s a quality looking product.
I’m impressed and pleased I took a chance.View attachment 78340

My new watch is working flawlessly and I received this from them today.
It may interest some (personally I prefer the style I went for).
The suspension system seems gimmicky.

It’s back. Have to say what an amazing job they’ve done it’s literally like new. Not a scratch in sight, clean as a whistle and was surprised at the amount of stuff they replaced included in the price. 3 new buttons. Oh and a free case lol

Very expensive but very glad I did it. Would it lay for a service like this every 5 years like they recommend, no. But every 10-15 years yes I would.

Very nice. LWR do a similar service in terms of re-furb.

First time I sent a Breitling back for the full works I actually thought they'd just dropped the movement into another case / strap....

This went to Omega. Ok by that it’s ‘The Swatch Group’ but obviously trained skilled people at least.
Think sometimes it’s easy to slate the bigger outfits and indi’s win each time and dont get me wrong that can be right, but to be fair whoever has worked on this has done 100% of a perfect job.

The winder and adjustment feels a lot more solid and tighter. Also when I use to press the button to start the chronograph before the button was fully depressed the hand would jump and then start ticking. That’s all gone completely. And it returns to bang on the centre of the 12 marker.

Is the top photo a "before" pic, as it looked pretty new in that photo as well

No all photos are from today. Not the best pics and unfortunately I didn’t get before pics but this is a 12-13 year old watch I bought from new and was needing some TLC

Oh I totally agree! I tend to select depending on what I want to have done. Indies are not always the best!

It looks and sounds great, I’m glad it worked out. The pushers and crown do wear over time and would normally be replaced in a major service like this. Helps keep the water and dust out. Also it looks like they didn’t polish the case too aggressively, which is a good thing.

Hope you enjoy it for many more years.

Yeah really happy with it and not the polish they have given is as light as can be. Basically just looks like new again with no signs of a polish.
it’s going to get some well deserved usage again now

A bit off topic but I think Nixie clocks were mentioned on here a while back?

Got this for Christmas. Features Soviet valves and shows time date and temp and lights up in different colours... this purple being coolest IMO. Fits in well with the Fatman valve amp for Bluetooth iPhone music in the background! 79718
