Not surprised. It's for people with too much time on their hands. I hate services and public places at the best of times but waiting for a slow refuel in one of aforementioned places makes me shudder. EV is flawed and Hydrogen cell is the way forward now.

Agreed Phil and thought the same for a long time. EV is just a stepping stone and as we all know, the tech companies have to sell the current stuff before they start selling the new stuff.

Hydro has the added benefit that it can be retrofitted back onto a 4 stroke engine...win, win.

They just have to work out how not to blow the car and its occupant plus any nearby pedestrians into the stratosphere!

The beauty is that Hydrogen is so light and the fuel is literally evaporated in no time unlike Petrol etc.... The Hindenburg death toll was very low from actual burns but more from falling to the ground.

Well not exactly; the 4-stroke principle works but very inefficiently, there wouldn't be many original components remaining. HFC teck works by generating electricity to be efficient.

Electricity is the way forward, but its still early days... having to rely on the installed infrastructure does scare me, but i shouldn't have to rely on that too often...

Big red will be spending the weekend at BMW as i collect the keys to a shiny new i3 for a 24hr test drive.

The looks... im not sure on... they arnt to my taste, but they are different enough to a leaf, zoe, etc... I kinda like it... but what i do like is the £30 per month cost of running the thing, compared to about £350-£400 on the QP. With my daily commute being ~30 miles a day prime EV territory - the QP barely gets upto temps before i have to turn it off...

Its a big expense, but my man maths has me breaking about even adding one to the QP, once i factor fuel, servicing, wear, etc... but... and here is the biggie... I freaking love driving the big masser... given the choice which would i rather take... deep down I know!

I had a look at the Jaguar electric thingy when I was in dealership this morning. Got me wondering the could surely make the radically different looking, as they would not need to conform to a traditional layout.

I've driven a Model S about 3 years ago. Quick and comfy, but no fun on the back roads. Very peaceful for general driving.
I had a track day at Millbrook yesterday in the Jaguar I-Pace. 2 hours of driving in all sorts of ways. Loved it.

The Jaguar looks OK but it's bloody expensive and doesnt look that expensive. They want people into these type cars but while they are so much money they ain't got a hope.
