Thinking something practical and maserati. Levante v6d

Hi guys

I have owned 2 granturismo sports. Looking at selling my current nero gts and getting a strad in the future. In the mean time I still want to stick with maserati. Really interested in the levante, seen a few around London and I like them. Seen some nice spec ones for around 32k, seems like a lot of car for the money. Looking at the specs on the 3.0 v6d seem ok but looks like a nice remap would sort the levante diesel right out. Has anyone driven a tuned one? Iam not interested in the v6s as I want to keep it practical and it will be used to ferry the family about so it will be nice to enjoy the mpg coming from the granturismo sport.

Cheers dan

I thought you bought your GranTurismo six minutes ago?

Levante is fine in its space but all cars of this type are **** compared with their estate siblings IMHO. Before I changed my family discovery for an XC90 I drove a new shape 6 cylinder diesel X5 and it was ok. Having driven a couple of diesel Levantes a few years ago I would say those sort of cars are much of a muchness so just buy the one you want. Personally I prefer to keep a big SUV and a GranTurismo as these sort of compromise cars do nothing well except let you know you are driving a compromise all the time. For example the Levante boot is not that big.

Cheers for getting back to me lads. I think I just need to go and test drive one!! Trouble is some people love them and some hate and the mixed reviews don't help. At the minute I am on doing my second property up and getting bits of tools in the boot of the gt is a nightmare plus we are having a second baby soon so space is going to be tight. I think the levante would be pretty cool for a year or two. I personally love the looks and interior, obviously looked at cayenne, f pace, range rover but they just don't do it for me. The levante may not be perfect but what maserati is, that's why we are all here right, to stand out and be different.

Test drive one and see what you think as only you can decide. If you like it and can get past that it is ugly as a bag of boll0cks then fill your boots.

Something that blew my mind when looking at these is they are longer than a full sized Range Rover!!

I don’t know why I just assumed they where similar size to a Jaguar F pace

just be aware of the potential depreciation curve on these, esp a Diesel becomes more and more the fuel of doom.

I think it is something to do with the Levante being a reverse Tardis.

They are no uglier than most cars in this space.
No matter how I try BB I just cannot warm to it...Front is trying to be so aggressive while the back is just bland beyond description....Not the Maserati way they are better than that. At least Range Rover seem to make there box shape attractive and purposeful. But hey As long as buyers like it and keep putting money into Maserati so they can make something wonderful again then I’m happy.

Quite clearly the Levante is an abomination......the end.

You need a Velar, First Edition Supercharged.
Here’s a picture of mine on a shopping trip last week just outside Brisbane.

Epic beauty and the scenery’s not bad either.

Hawk13 loved it in his thread and from recollection thought the McCartney/Wonder inspired interior was fab........his wife had a problem getting her handbag in it for some reason

RR make the best designs in this space. Most other cars are visually challenging except the Urus which is not really the same type of car but has massive presence. Rather annoyingly there are quite a few knocking around Edinburgh these days.

Nope, fortunately for owners the Velar comes with a hepafilter which eliminates 101% of all currently known Covid strains including next months Azerberjan, Kentucky and Falkland Island mutations.
RR think of everything.
It’s the car of the future................................................................Probably will be awarded its own mutation passport, I would think.

100% agree...Why would you pick a Lavante over that. Shows you can make a 4x4 look good.

I don't agree, I'd have a Levante over any Land Rover product except the Defender. Every one I've ever owned has been utter rubbish and every few years I pluck up the courage to buy another and then am quickly reminded how rubbish they are. However, I wouldn't have a Levante either unless it was a petrol one. And then I'd still buy a Macan or Cayenne, or maybe another Volvo.

When it come to diesel, I like the torque but I think when it comes time to change the Macan, i'll probably go petrol or maybe some kind of petrol/hybrid/electric/unicorn powered thing. Or maybe a Defender as it's so silly large that I like it.
