Wasn't it Italy where tax officials were identifying owners of high-end cars and then investigating their tax returns? Apparently there were a large number of Ferrari, Maserati, etc owners who weren't earning enough money to pay a lot of tax. At the time it was expected that sales would decline as a result.

Yes...they'd been targeted and a surprising number hadn't paid tax in years....but its a national pastime over there.......now come to an end, plus didn't they triple supercar road taxes too?
