I'm going to go for this one first as it looks like a 30 minute job, which is lucky as it is my attention span...

That's poor. Mine's was longer than that Only yesterday I was doing........oh look! Kittens!

Can you do a how to, or at least post a few more photos. I'd like to sort this out on my GS but cant quite work out where this is.

Dont ask a Manchester United player to do it for you. Their attention span is less than 30 seconds it seems :)

Here is a photographic trail of breadcrumbs to help you find it...

I have it on good authority that the top end on the left hand bank is the first place to get noisy if your oil/water heat exchanger for the engine oil starts to fail. This is where this known problem of oil starvation starts. If not checked very quickly it will lunch your engine.

Not yet buddy, it was non stock at Meridien, hopefully will be this weekend.

My car is in for a bit of work this week and I spoke to Ed Blasi about it, he confirmed it is for the accumulator.

Great subject on top end rattle, I have asked McGraths to fit one on my spyder whilst they were doing a second year service, they were very impressed with the information available on this forum and more importantly willing to take your advice
I have only had this rattle occasionally so time will tell, thanks for sharing.

I've fitted this to mine following the thread. Mine is definitely better now. Still rattles on occasion but much less frequently.

As the oil gets on a bit, they do rattle at start up so is an indication to change it, putting in new oil should stop that.

Had a full service at autoshield in July and only done about 2000 miles since so I'd hope the oil is still OK! :)

Mine rattles for like 3-4 seconds on start up but only once a week/ten days. Normally when it is cold outside, don't think it has ever made a rattle in warmer weather.
Should I be concerned?

As far as I'm aware it won't do any harm, it is more just an annoying noise.

The part is cheap and has easy access so you might as well change it.
