I own a historic Mercedes 450 sl of 1974, and due to the fact that i want to sell it, but i'll never reach the price i'm looking for, i decided to trade it.There are two options at this budget that are of my interest: A Caterham and a Corvette of the 70's.
For the corvette i love the appearance, but i had enough with V8 engines.Besides it's a coupe. The caterham is something else.Having owned an Mg tf 160, i must say i am missing a car that touches the ground. It is a driving school, has a wieght of less than 500kgs and is open to weather.
What do you think? Have you had experience with any of both?
It's all about a Sunday car, that is beeing driven when weather is good, when job is done, when i feel like doing something else, when, when, when...
Attached is my sl.
Thanks in advance!

Nikos, that is stunning mate; what a shame it has to go, I bet it has never had a spot of rust where you are?

With the ecconomy in such a state are you not tempted to ship it to northern Europe to sell it for much bigger money?

I placed an ad at mobile.de (the german pistonheads) with no luck.In Germany there are thousands of these in all prices from 1500 to 60000 euros. It;s true, there's no rust, i myself have restored all the interior last winter.
