US Spec clutches ?

Some chap on the American facebook page recons that U.S. spec 4200 s don't suffer from clutch tang failure becuse they have differant clutch covers ?

This is rubbish i take it ?

I would think they are the same. The difference is, is the climate. Our harsher winters probably corrode the spring tangs and contributes to failure.

The only think I can think of would be that the F430 clutch fits straight in, maybe in the US they only supply that much stronger clutch cover.

Id need to see the tangs, they are thicker and a different shape.

Given the far harsher Lemon Laws in the US and their default litigation culture I would not be surprised if the US versions had improved items.

Very interesting!

The premature failure was down to a poor quality batch from Valeo thats why we don't hear of it so ofter now...or we are all getting the US clutch as producing 2 different ones was a pointless exercise?
