At sub £60k what would you go for

Trofeo or Guilia QV ?
It’s a choice between the car that was sacrificed, for the car that it was sacrificed for.
I’ve not driven a Ghibli Trofeo; the Quad is great. The Trofeo should have a nicer interior, but while it has more leather the carbon/wood bits look a little, well, naff and shiny. The new GranTurismo isn’t much better.
This from the company that gave us the 3200/4200 interior :(

Neither. If you have to have a Ghibli just get a V6 petrol for 20k for daily use then buy the 2 seater Stradale that is on AT for 41k.
As much as i love the Strad, for me its too big and heavy to think of it as a two-seater sportscar. For me at near two tone the platform is better for grand touring. And Trofeo has the last ferrari production v8. Horses for courses....

To be honest I don’t think I would have either for 60k or the the ones I mentioned. For 60k I would be going for a two seater sports car. Something like a Lotus Emira, Boxster Spyder, Cayman GT4, AMG GT S or stretch a little more for a 2018 V8 Vantage So many great cars out there to experience.

I’m changing one my cars this year, I “need“ a fast modern four door.

Any sane person would just go and buy a lightly used M5/E63. But the bloody Trident keeps creeping into my head and flying around up there..

I’ll have to test drive one.

Perfect. Trofeo it is then!

The only issue for me is the Ghibli interior vs zee M5/E63 though.

Also.. These never seem to come up for sale from a Maserati dealer? (A warranty would be nice!)

It should still have some factory warranty, which would be extendable from your local main dealer. Problem solved.

I hadn’t thought of that, that will keep zee wife happy enough.

It “unfortunately” will also come down to if there even is one for sale (that isn’t white!) later in the year, since they’re so rare.

I wonder what will depreciate worse over the next few years, an M5/E63 or a Trofeo? You would think the Trofeo would fare the best, probably wishful thinking..

Looking at the stats Maserati have sold 35 in the UK since it came out.

2020 x 2
2021 x 12
2022 x 15
2023 x 5
2024 x 1

The Quattroporte Trofeo they have only sold 9 since it came out in the UK.

Not many then..

Then you need one in a colour one likes, add to that for the white one for instance it didn’t have radar/active cruise control, I can’t live without that now I’ve had it.
So the list gets even smaller!

I think it said 33 are currently road registered at the end of 2024.

It's as rare as a two-seat MC-Strad and just as the Strad has held a higher percentage of its value than a normal GranTurismo, so I would expect the Trofeo to do so over a normal Ghibli or QP.
There will always be some die-hard Maser fans who will want a Trofeo version, that would have no interest in a diesel.
So while of course there will be some further initial depreciation, this will flatten out.

It’s disappeared from AT now so must have sold. Wonder how long it will take for another to come up. Don’t hold your breath springs to mind.

They’re a bit like flies, nothing for ages and then a group of them. There was a black with red accents interior one for sale for six months that disappeared recently, and there was a mother of pearl-ish type satin black thing around for a bit.

Ah right. I find that with Auto100. They have a car up for sale the. It disappears off AT for a day or two. No idea why that would be.

Maybe they only pay week by week and forget occasionally ;)

I just think they mix it up and if you put the advert back on when someone searches for most recent it will come to the top. They had 19 Lotus Emira for sale over the last month and it looks like lots sold but I see some have gone back up for sale on their website site and AT. Not sure what they are doing.
