The chap buying my MCV.

?? An MCV for sale? An MCV sold? I have been under a rock!! I presume it's not the done thing to mention price range?

These are the one model of M138 certain to appreciate in price....

The advice is stretch to it or negotiate hard, it's a buyers market right now and cars are not selling.

Unfortunately as much as I loved the car when I saw it a few years ago...and still do...it is some £5-10k over what I can stretch to. And as I’ll be daily driving it (albeit not daily at all) id waste away a mint example. It’s owned on here apparently....

Richard Grace listed it at £59,995 and sold it within 4 days. An immaculate example, in the perfect spec and sold with brand new clutch and service. I imagine it might be possible to get a slightly higher mileage and slightly less perfect example for a bit less than this, but they so rarely come up that it's hard to judge.

It’s a bit out of my budget, but is the owner on the forum...? Much known about this one?

I believe that it's been discussed recently. I my be wrong but it was a sad situation as the owner passed away a year or so ago and was sold to probably the person selling it now. Someone on here ai believe saw it at Dick Lovett before it was sold last time....Think it may have been Phil.... Again not sure but I think someone on here had been speaking with the gentlemen who passed away wife as she needed it sold. Think it's the same car and if so I'm sure someone can confirm.

I saw this car 2 years ago. I don't know about anyone dying, but it was for sale through an agency when I saw it up Bedford way. At the time it needed a new clutch and work on the ac pump. I had the car inspected by Emblem, and as the owner was unwilling to do a deal, I dropped out. The car was quite tidy but had noticeable defects; the wing mirror mounting plates had been resprayed and not very well, and there was an obvious blemish in the middle of the bonnet.

Here is my input when it came back on sale recently:

I published the PPI report on here and I'll post a link in a mo.

This forum has such a huge source of info
I guess it also helps that there are relatively few cars to choose from
Looks like it’s best avoiding private cars on eBay etc and just concentrating on ones either listed by forum members...or Dickie/Nuvola

With such a small pool of cars available, any that outwardly fit your requirements should be considered. Just be sure to have a professional inspection after your own initial look. And just because a given car may require some work doesn't mean it must be dismissed - just that the cost of such work should be reflected in your offer.

Just as no doubt others in my situation would read this thread, just a little shout out for RG..
Took the time to speak to me at length about a few options and gave real honest advice (even when I had to run off midway to eat)

Hasn’t really narrowed much down in my head, but really great to chat to someone who clearly loves Masers

Cheers buddy

(And no I’ve not been sponsored to say that haha)

Like it...needs darker wheels with the silver. Low mile car as well. Is it just me ot a re GS prices beginning to stablize between 25 and 30k. It was not long ago that the only cars you saw for 25/27k has 50k up. Yes I know top examples at specialists with ultra low miles are over 30k but there are now a few under 30k and show no sign of going any higher over the last few months.
