Hi - I'm in the early stage of hunting for a new (to me) weekend, fun car which works for the family.

Looking for:

- 4.7 Granturismo MC Shift or Auto

- Black / Dark grey / Silver exterior with black leather.

- Ideally 2010 onwards.

- Ideally around 40,000 miles or less.

- Ideally based around the south east, to make viewing easier and I would want an inspection to be carried out (Dale at Prestige Autoworks seems favourable).

Looking to spend ~£30k to £35k - send me a message if you are thinking of selling a car which fits the bill.

A man of impeccable taste!

Dealer-wise, in the south-east call Nareman at Nuvola London. Impeccable reputation. Further afield Dicky at Richard Grace Cars in the relatively antopodean north-west. For a good one, don't be afraid to travel.

I have checked them both out, but not enquired directly with them yet.

I guess I am hoping someone with a delightful example on here is willing to offload for a bargain :);)

I'm certainly not in a rush at this point, but will no doubt be itching to pull the trigger soon...

It's true that a forum car should be a goodie. Worth a chat with Matt (@conaero), forum diety and guv'nor at SportsItalia. He may know of something.

Not many people rushing to sell their GTs then...

Seems to have dried up on autotrader too

Winter is always a dry month for quality cars.

I'm looking to move on my GS for a GT, but there is nothing out there that floats my boat and I'm budgeting for up to 36k.

I don’t mind it, Ive used a lot of these kind of gearboxes before with r tronic in a supercharged r8 and some others. If it’s your first experience it might be a shock.
You just need to read the road in traffic and annoy people by hanging back. I love it, for those 5 minute blasts you eventually get

Have I missed the post saying you got it and shared the details and pics? C'mon, you know the score. ;)

Sacriledge I know, I haven't even taken a picture! Although it was a forum members car, so will probably be on here somewhere

- I do not want any aftermarket sports exhausts.

Then I must say you will miss out. I'll be modifying my car as much as possible. It will never see a masersti garage of any type, unless absolutely and I mean absolutely necessary, but give me 6 months and you will be hard pushed to find a better maintained car.

Sometimes the purist viewpoint for pub bragging rights isn't all it's hyped up to be.

Good luck with your hunt. Please do consider lots of variations as it would be a shame to rule a car out just because it makes a better noise.

In fairness to the OP they don’t say why they don’t want an aftermarket exhaust (might be nothing to do with being a purist). I’ve had many sports cars and almost all have had an exhaust mod, however my GT is stock in that department and will probably stay stock as I just love the tone of the standard car and don’t ever think I want it any louder.

I'm not a purist, just don't want a loud exhaust. Sounds good enough to me. I did the car sports exhaust modding many years ago :)

Maybe a bit of quiet refinement is why I'm edging to an auto rather than MC Shift

On a 4.2 auto, you have to modify the exhaust to get anywhere near the sound quality of a later 4.7 S.
The sweet spot being a post 2009 4.7 S MC-shift in standard form. Pops and crackles, rev blips and still that classy maserati tone. Start adding any mods and you introduce Rasp for the sake of volume.

That’s what I found with my Strad. The X pipe gave it too much rasp for me, but before I went back to stock, I added an H Pipe and really like the tone now, in valves closed it’s perfectly civilised but in race mode it’s epic and when you get to 7000prm it’s awsome.
