Good to see all options being explored and D Lovetts doing their best for you, hopefully all turns out well.

Conaero, thought the weakness in the radiator was only on the 3200 item, not for 4200 or is it both?

Understand RSM, just as an aside, did you enquire if this is an up-dated version with strengthened flanges as Conaero mentioned?

Erm ................ No...............b****r!

Although after a bit of research it appears that part of the problem in the flanges lie with dealerships who have reduced the time allowed to remove front hoses (access to oil filter) resulting in perhaps a ham fisted mechanic being a bit over forcefull with a sticking hose.

Dick Lovetts came up trumps, first one was damaged in transit - only a slight dent but Alan Clarke replaced it with no quibbles and despatched another in a wooden crate - top bloke and top service.
Douglas Valley Breakers took over 2 weeks to refund my money on the radiator they sent and even that took several phone calls and complaints - so not impressed with them at all.

Fitting involved removing just about everything that is between he engine block and radiator including the air filters and the plenum box - just to get at the jubilee clip hidden underneath! Then removing most of the pipes again as the twin fans are wired differently causing 1 to suck air in the other to blow out! I never thought that would be an issue, but you live and learn as I usually mark everything that's removed.

So I now have a spare - if a bit leaky (stone chip on core split one or two of the cooling fins) no good to me anybody want it?

Good to hear RSM...glad it is sorted :D
Alan at DL is always very helpful, top chap :D
I almost had dealings with DVB (part for my 550)...but I looked at their ebay feedback and saw that whenever somebody left bad feedback for them,
they always responded by calling the other party names and it was basically never their fault...did not like that and walked away...
we all make mistakes, and you just have to hold your hand up and say...yep, sorry, what can I do to put it right :D
