Hi every one just landed on this great site , Iam very impressed with the communication between members. I have ridden Ducati for 40 years and I think they have made somewhat of a mechanic out of me. I purchased a Red 2006 GS a few years ago and certainly enjoy trips to GT races at Bathurst 5 hours away on our big open back roads. Got caught in the heat 107 F 42 C with the A/C dash fan failed so this week pulled the dash out and sure enough its fused . The heater core looks new so I guess its been replaced, it would be great if some one could give me the simple version of how to purchase the fan and Saab heater core as I may forget how to put it all back together if I leave it to long. Looks like Maserati is continuing on where Ducati left off. Love the car it has FD T/Module, EXOST exhaust, BMC air filter and a Stability program that doesn't function. Hope I posted this in the correct place. Cheers Shane

Welcome Shane to the madness!

As you have it out and the heater matrix is so cheap I would just replace it regardless.

As for the fan you could try the main dealer but suspect that will be silly like a grand. It’s probably the same motor as an Alfa 916 GTV or other model so a good idea to compare it in Google images online.

Salvage is probably your best bet and we have David Askew and Trident Spares in here. If it were me though I would not buy used as in a years time you might end up doing it again.

Can you not replace just the motor part of the fan? You appear technically competent as getting the dash out is no easy task.

Thanks for a great welcome, Conaero got it right with eurospares very affordable thank you, Saabtech UK has a heater exchanger for $140 A I just have to check on the product #5046362 to see if its correct, thanks again Conaero I forgot about looking under google images , its a great way to find thing as I think most peoples memory works on images. Love that BLUE philw696 my car is as RED as yours is BLUE, I think they were letting people know that Ferrari are behind it. When I decided to buy a classic car I forgot about the formula I used to buy my last DUCATI (GT1000) and that is RETRO, you get the classic looks with all the good gear +safety . Downunder when we talk about the C r a p p a its someware we go on our own and it only has one seat . Cheers

Hi Shane, like your choice of car and colour!
I did the dash out heater core and fan change nearly 2 years ago.
Happy to discuss if you want to ring me, just PM me for contact details.
I'm taking mine to Sydney on Monday for some adjustments at Scudera Cavalino.
I've done 50,000 km in mine in 4 years so have lived through most of the issues common to our model.
The Maserati Club often has runs to the Hunter Valley so maybe you could meet up sometime.

Welcome from another Ducati nut.

Club Maserati Australia is running out to Mudgee and Gulgong on the weekend of the 5th May if you happen to want to meet up with some of the members. We are also figuring out a northern run on the 20th May for lunch somewhere so we will be in touch closer to the time with some info.

Thanks Bruce love to hear how you get on at Scudera Cavalino as it was at least 2 years ago that a mechanic called Vic at Road & track had a SD2 on my car, since than the MSP has not worked, so there is a fault, I wonder if any one knows of his whereabouts ? as I believe the tech owns the diagnostic tool. The hunter has great Restaurants , about 3 hours or so away it would be great to catch up .

That would be great sjw, Will have the GS back on the road by than. Just taking the rear discs and handbrake pads for rebounding and machining of the handbrake contact area if there is enough metal while iam waiting for the parts to come from UK.

Hi Shane, yes I saw Vic today.
He fixed a air bag dash light and drivers window auto drop that wasn't dropping.
Turns out there is adjustment to the sensor contact in my case, other with bent sensor arm that needs straightening or it's replace the whole regulator. I got away with it.
He has new premises as he separated from Road & Track.
Is your car Dom's old one? I ask because there are so few Rosso Mondale and Dom traded his for a F430 at Road & track. Dom was well known in the club.

Great to hear Vic is looking after you , I picked him for a straight up bloke. It would be fantastic to get his contact details, any time a tech can save you money it has to be a good day. I think i did see Dom name in the service booklets, i will check . Got the rear discs and hand brake pads for machining and rebounding, Iam now staring at the rubber ball joint boots which I have a new set from US, take a breath whats NEXT look at U TUBE keep smiling Cheers Shane

Recently purchased a 3200 GT, 2001 series 1, auto. I live in the Southern Highlands, NSW, and the car came from just a couple of streets away! Only joined 'Sports Maserati' yesterday, so not yet familiar with its 'workings'.

My GT has 97k kms up, drives and looks great. I've ordered a complete set of coolant/turbo hoses from Roose, to replace the (original?) slightly cracked ones. This is my 'most-modern' car, and shares the garage with some 'oldies'.
