went to see the 13 plate car....just waitng to hear back regarding the service history(only had one stamp in the book from dec 2018.and none previous!!!)is the price ok ?also thought they would all come with a maserati warranty, but that is not the case{auto protect warranty)are the mc shift holding the values well...or better pushing the boat for the stradale.Getting test drive on tuesday if all history and px price checks out.

Values still, dropping I'm afraid as with most V8 cars these days. I would go Stradale but drive both and see which you prefer. You can decide if you think it's worth 20k more then. Price wise doesn't seem well off the mark.

Go for the Strad, if you can. The standard car is likely to drop about £20k over the next 5 years, while Strad is more likely to drop by just £10k. Well, that’s my guess. And the Strad will be more fun as well, as you like/want a manual as opposed to auto gearbox.

I'd go Strad as well but a GT S is still a cracking buy at a big chunk less. Either way means you have a cracking car.

I think I'd have to wait and find one not in White though.

Love the Rossi Magma Strad Dicky has but I can't get over my physiological barrier to spend that amount on a car. Never bought one for more than 25k before.

I can't see the car in the link. To be honest, just buy the car you like. Predicting which way the car prices will go is notoriously risky and subject to individual predictions that may be hopelessly out in terms of accuracy. I am not an expert, but on the Porsche forum there are comedians predicting 996 water cooled cars with the brittle m96 engine are appreciating in value - when the industry dealers and specialist say otherwise - many recognised specialists wont even take in a m96 car on its original engine fir fear of being clobbered in a warranty claim. This is a Maserati forum but equally, in all honesty, there is no evidence that anybody's predictions are (a) in the right direction and b) by how much.

Just go out and buy yourself a car to enjoy and worry about values when you come to sell. Assume it will depreciate. Then you may be pleasantly surprised come resale time.

Good advice. Buy the car you like the most. Both will depreciate over the next few years anyway. But I’m very confident that the standard car will depreciate more than the Strad, to the extent that I’d bet money on it. Time and again, both with Maserati’s and Porsche’s, the rare and top spec cars hold their value better than the more common, standard ones. Just as a 996 GT3 has held its value better than a standard 996, so the Strad has faired better than the GT-S. And this will continue.

Yes, agreed. I'm sure the depreciation curve on a Strad has been far shallower than on a regular GTS, on a mileage-equivalent basis.

Ewan, you should put your money where your mouth (well, fingers) is (are) and place that bet by buying a Strad. Your time has come.

Funny you should say that. Your wish is my command! I've just agreed a deal on a 2-seat Strad. We've been back and forth over the last week, and finally got over the finish line today.

It's not advertised anywhere or on the open market, so I can't provide a link. But I should pick it up next week, so I'll arrange pictures then. Sadly it's not blue (as that car's not for sale) - but it's metallic black so will match the GranCab-MC. But as a nice change from the norm, the roof lining is in the Maserati blue alcantara, instead of the standard black. So at least I've got a bit of blue in there!

Having just joined the club, whichever one you go for will induce huge grins.

I think this is okay, given the low mileage. In theory, the servicing should be July 15, July 17, July 19. But if you end up with Jan 16, Jan 18 and May 19 (with low miles), I can't see that being a problem. If it's the right car for you in all other aspects, go for it.

(And apologies for slightly hi-jacking your thread. But this is the SM forum, after all.)

Keep up at the back, Andy! It’s black on the outside (to match the GC-MC), and mostly black on the inside, but with the blue alcantara roof lining. Here’s another interior shot (though the after-market mats will be upgraded).

Do like the headlining but who puts £5 Halfords mats in a Maserati?

Back on topic, if they won’t come to meet you on the servicing and you’re not sure, keep looking there’s a few around at the moment.

Not sure where you are in the country but Outrun is not a million miles from Parks in Hamilton and ex Stradale owner so might be worth contacting him in case he has any knowledge of the garage or cars etc. as well as words of wisdom on model to buy.
