What other cars have you owned?

I think I detect an inexplicable lack of Hillmans and Humbers in these lists of cars owned, so as an attempt to raise the tone (haha) here's my list. Approximately in chronological order, although sometimes vehicles owned concurrently. And sometimes, like the late James Hunt, my only vehicle was an Austin A35 van. Never had a company car, and only two cars bought new. Worst vehicle? - either the VW Combi or the Morris Minor. Most depreciation? VW Touareg V10 (due to VW destroying resale values by flooding dealerships with pre-registered new V10s. I’ll never buy another VAG product). Best deal? The rusty Alfa GTV bought from an Alfa dealer for £300 because I wanted the engine for my sick Guilietta. That £300 GTV ran for 15 months trouble free, before we swapped the engine.

1955 Vauxhall Cresta

Jeez. With that number of cars your photo collection must be epic. But, for the record, no one wants to see a half nekid lady draped over a Fiat Tipo :D

Sadly, I guess that's true about the Tipo, or indeed an A35 van (although I guess James Hunt probably tried it). Not sure the Tipo is the least appropriate photo opportunity in my list, when there's so many mingers - Austin 1800 'land crab' maybe?

These weren’t crappy at all, they were great!
I had a metallic red 87 one, it was a really good all rounder. Handling and ride were excellent, great seats and driving position, loads of kit, big boot, would do 140 too. And it had pop up headlights!
Sold it to les battersby from coronation street.

My Mum had an 88 one in the same colour and a 91 in blue. I’ve missed the boat price wise but really fancy a GT4

Wow there are some serious lists on here.
Since passing my test in 79 and been in the Motor Trade most of my life I really cannot remember how many cars and motorcycles I have had.
I wish DVLA could tell you how many times your name has been on a log book.
I would happily pay to find out then there's the cars I have owned in other parts of the world too.

My own list is rubbish but I was chatting with someone at a meet who said he'd had 144 cars and keeps a spreadsheet of it all. I can't remember what he reckoned he'd spent on buying cars but it was in the millions! Obviously there's been money in as well but he daren't think about how much it had cost him net over the years.

Looks like I’ve sold 23 cars and would estimate an average conservative loss of £10k (some I’ve lost zero but others I’ve lost £25k on). So £230k down. Call it £0.25m with a few quid spent on modifications and maintenance (I suspect a lot more in reality). Should have stuck with my Mondeo, saved up and bought an F40 or F50 when they were cheap

Oh, but where would be the fun in that! You'd have the pub bragging crown but you could never hoon. :)

Exactly and before I would have bought an F40 (dream) the money would have gone on unrewarding boring stuff anyway, like a pension….

Looks like a Pirelli Edition that I think was identical to my Edition 30 apart from wheels. If so it has a bigger turbo than the standard GTI and reliably produced 300 bhp from 230 with a £300 chip.

Yep it's remapped to 300 hp. Goes well!

Great thread! Got me thinking and like others, I wonder how well off I might have been if I'd been more focussed! Quite honestly, I don't know day to day what car I would like next.
So here goes in rough chronological order. Many are rubbish and generally all lost money!
Vauxhall Viva
Vauxhall Chevette
Mk3 Cortina
MG Midget
Opel Ascona
Vauxhall Nova -new
Citroen Ax - new
Renault 5 GT Turbo- new ( 25th birthday present to myself, just before divorce!)
Ford Sierra XR4x4 - stolen after 2 weeks!
Vauxhall Cavalier Estate (still paying above off! No GAP)
Lotus Elite 907 - great car when it ran!
Ford Sierra Sapphire LX
BMW 320 saloon
1987 Porsche 928 S4
1987 Lotus Esprit S3 - perfect! Should have kept!
1989 Nissan 200sx - Mk1 with pop up lights, great car.
MG Midget - another one!
1991 Jaguar XJ S - what a car!
BMW 320 Touring
Renault Laguna
Mazda 626
Triumph Spitfire 1500 - restored and perfect. Great wee car.
Audi A4 3.2 Quattro Convertible - seemed like a good idea at the time!
Audi TT 3.2 Quattro Mk 2 - surprisingly good car.
1998 Porsche 996 C2 - a fabulous no frills sports car with LSD and M030 suspension. So Freddling hard! Very numb!
2000 Porsche 996 C2 Convertible - great fun. A lot more comfortable!
Skoda Yeti - new. Great car but diesel
BMW 420d Gran coupe. New. Great car but shocking engine.
Skoda Yeti L&K - New. Best car ever. I cannot say enough about how good these cars are. A sensible daily. Its a crying shame they stopped making them. Had this car the longest and is a keeper! 5 years plus!
Skoda Fabia TSE - Another great wee car from Skoda!
Maserati 4200 Facelift. Despite main dealer inspection had been subject to rear end collision. A lot of work to sort out and then the heater matrix went!
Maserati 4200 Facelift. Great car, heater matrix went (again!!)
2002 Maserati 3200 manual. What a wonderful car! Madder than a bucket full of soapy frogs! By far the most exciting car I have owned. Fatally flawed and unreliable. Still love it though!
2017 Mercedes C63 - fast, best sound but otherwise boring and bland. What can I say!
2020 BMW M4. New. Bought cos a great deal. Great car but Mrs Flexwing hates 2 doors. Tried to run as a daily. Lasted 3 months.
2019 Skoda Superb Mk 3 Sportline. Another cracking car from Skoda. A vast improvement from previous models and a great daily. Just bought it.

Company cars include:
MG Mini Metro - so bad!
Peugeot 405 - great car!
Citroen Xantia Estate - another great car
Vauxhall Vectra - utter you know what!
Vauxhall Cavalier - again!

Currently looking for a Gransport or perhaps another early 928 or Citroen CX GTI Turbo 2 which I absolutely love for some reason.

Yeah, I don't want to buy a project, or a fixer upper. I lack the skills to do it myself, and the alternative is expensive.
