Definitely marmite, but I love it. Remember being gobsmacked at the design of it when it first appeared, but found it alluring. Not a typically beautiful Italian design, but one of the more quirky but unique designs.....

There was an Italian cafe round the corner from one of my offices in Clerkenwell. The brothers used to have one. The only one I saw in wild for many a year

I loved the Lancia beta HPE and like you nearly bought one at 18. Also liked the Beta coupe but they both rotted before your eyes.

A couple of my mates had the Beta Coupe. One had a 1600 and the other a 2000. Nice looking cars indeed.
