Tonight at 9pm our Teifi Valley Gentleman’s Music Club is pressing play on Sid’s choice “Real Life” by Magazine. Last week was the eponymous debut of Fever Ray and the week before was Ziggy Stardust. Looking forward to my name coming out of the hat in the next three weeks (only three names left). In the DDR, our undercover group has to socialise via WhatsApp. Hopefully, we’ll soon break down the wall and all music will be shared again, whilst Drakula returns to his allotment.

Keep forgetting to mention Bad Seed TeeVee on YouTube if you’re a fan of the greatest living band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. It’s live 24/7, as a special gift to the world in lockdown. Great way to waste hours and scare the kids...

The Ms has started listening to the Weeknd on full volume in the car. I can hear here drive in the end of the road!

Strange to think it’s 2020 and Bob Dylan and Neil Young are top of the U.K. album chart.

Sat down with the Mrs yesterday to watch some Glastonbury stuff off the iplayer - Jeff Lynn's ELO set was fantastic, crystal clear and his voice is just as good as it was back in the '70s, so many good songs too. Next up was Orbital from last year, fantastic stuff. I came home from work just now and she's watching a Chemical Brothers set from 2000, I couldn't believe it was twenty years old.... they were playing the epic 'Private Psychedelic Reel' with the rejigged sitar sample from 'Norwegian Wood', just brilliant.

In the car on the way home I was listening to one of my Ennio Morricone soundtrack compilations, not the well known Spaghetti Western stuff but some of the equally as good late '60s / early '70s Giallo film themes he wrote, they're so beautifully done. Perfect driving music in the Alfa... ;)

...Love is a battlefield....
C
It sure is....Prefer her early stuff though.....Although all fired up came out after and got back to what she does best.....Battlefield was not written by the band and it shows but it did give them a massive hit and was voted as one of the top ten songs of the 80's. It was on the live LP they bought out but was a studio track.

Norwegian rock band Stage Dolls. Huge in their own country but felt they where underrated back in the day with the glossy American sound married to some exceptional songs....

Just heard that Tom Meighan and Kasabian had mutually parted, due to his personal issues, wishing him all the best.
