What's the General consensus on Vinyl wrapping a car vrs resale

I've considered purchasing a car which is the wrong colour but everything else suits so wondered about vinyl wrapping as an option. Nothing lairy just say white for now.
Main questions are would you think this would have a negative impact on resale due to being wrapped, assuming full photographic evidence in the wrapping shop to provide support that it was only wrapped for the colour change?
Can it truly be removed without damage ?
Anyone had it done and guide costs ?

Interested in all opinions negative & positive

Well, I would happily wrap a car but I wouldn't buy one that had been and was still wrapped. I'd want to see what's going on underneath. If you get it wrapped by a company that knows what it's doing - Topaz, Dub Customs, the new place that James JWW vlogger boke off YouTube is setting up - then you'll be fine and they'll do a good job and it will come off no problem. Reckon on £3k for a full wrap, assuming you want it done properly rather than just a very superficial wrap that doesn't cover inside the doors (etc etc).

One question worth asking yourself is, is the original colour bad enough to deter the next buyer, or is it just not the colour you want. Also, of course, is the car in the spec you want so hard to find that it's worth not just waiting?

My kind of thoughts also, id want it done properly. id say the original colour was select, just a little to standout for me to drive. The spec is the issue, its about the closest I can get and there isn't many of them. Think its about the 2nd-3rd I've seen all year.

Nothing wrong with a wrap as long as you take it off before you sell plus tell DVLA of colour change.

Depending on where you live, I'd suggest dropping in at one or two places to get a feel for whether you like them or not and to get a quote. There are loads of different kinds and qualities of wrap, so the price will vary. If you're happy to stomach the cost of a wrap, and maybe even decide it's a perfect opportunity to get a colour you'd never otherwise be able to get (GTS's look amazing in orange, for example!), then pull the trigger on the car that's available now. Presumably, given the uncertain state of the economy, winter and so on the price should be fairly attractive.

Lol, orange would look great but kind of defeats the I want a nice car for me but don't all stare at me look :p ( I know you picked it as an example and see where im coming from).
would be a good opportunity to have a slightly unique colour I guess. Food for thought.

Cheers

Yes, it's a shame. In the same way that an orange Lambo, would be lovely, but you still have to drive it. :)

As above, if everything else is perfect bar the colour a decent wrap would be a good solution but you might need to plan to remove before sale which then b rings up the how long are you planning to keep it question?

I am intrigued to find out what colour it is that you would be prepared to spend 3k to hide it. What colour would you consider to be subtle enough.

I have the same criteria as you when looking for one - a colour that allows me to blend in, but it is not easy to drive around in a Granturismo with that noise and not to attract any attention - unless if you have a wrap that makes the car invisible ;).

Well, I guess the attention issue is a lot more manageable compared to a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

It’s not black, white or silver which for me is to much attention. I look like I should be driving a fiesta (no offence to any fiesta drivers) (kids are adding double years to my youthful looks tho:rolleyes:) coupled with living in Essex really could have a bad stigma attached to any other colour. (Ok I said white was ok but a Granturismo is the only car I’d consider being white:D) I’m not trying to hide, just not up in people’s faces (only due to my age and not that I think other colours are in your face, depends who’s driving it and where)

I actually quite like the green, although I would want it less shiny, and a bit darker. Bit like the F40 that has been repainted in green.

You boys were very resourceful to find images of the most “unique” colours for the granturismo!
