What’s the best way, or should I rephrase that, easiest way with best results short of respraying the entire panel, to deal with the wheel arch road rash?

No way I want to spend a fortune and start spraying panels but I’d like to neaten this up a bit

That looks like quite deep rust and if you are planning to keep the car any length of time it will be worth doing it correctly before it spreads.

So with limited knowledge I think the only way to get rid of rust is to cut it out, the fact it’s on a seam if less than helpful.

Bloody road rash. I'd take it to a good local smart repairer.

What bothers me is a colour match. Had an experience when I bought the car. Bianco Edorado, 3 different versions of it.

Wasn’t sure if there were any tips of the trade. It’s going to rash again obviously hence I’d be happy with a blast over / touch up. Might make a few enquiries

Have a look at the chipex website. I used their stuff on an Alfa Berra that I had with decent results on road rash.

That's been left a bit long and established.
You might find that it has spread under the paint further that can be seen exposed, and into the crease.
Really needs stripping to clean metal with the plastic sill cover removed.

And who here has had things like this cut out?, I'm guessing none, apart from it being a subframe , don't scaremonger please. Rotary wire brush the area back and have it treated , job done.

Definitely advisable to just drop the skirt down a little and check it isn't creeping along the edge.

Simple surface rust job by the looks. Bit of POR15 would sort that and then quick smart repair on the edge.
