Wheel arch road rash

I hate it too. but gosh, the UK's climate and Masers don't seem to go well together do they?!

Regarding the rash, I fitted spacers to mine and, cool as the car now looks, rash is of course worse. Every time I go out (Friday, what a blast) I few more little chips appear. But what the ****!

You could order a touch up set and try to dab a little on once a month, you'd stop rust that way. There is a place in the UK that advertise on ebay too that sent me mine, https://www.paints4u.com/

What year is the car, WBAC were a tad over £24k for my 2010 4.7MC in November

Lol was only kidding Scaf. No valuations have been acquired in the making of this thread! Mines a keeper. You’ll see it on a wheeler dealers 40 years from now, a barn find and this was dads beloved Maserati :D

So I have a garage to speak to, not contacted them yet but taken some guidance from a fellow car nut local to me and I value his opinion.

Will give them a shout and see what they say. I can confirm though the panel and dodgy area is solid I have no concerns whatsoever that all it needs is a little fabric maintenance and paint. I even have a photo of the correct pain code to help

Is anyone making up small PPF strips for our arches??

You can get them from Eurospares

or there's a guy on eBay also selling them as well.

The eBay ones are larger than the Eurospares ones. Both are clear but I requested mine to be black (black car and replacing black vinyl so no idea what was underneath!) from eBay.

I have Aliath too. They are not spot on with shape but a lot better than what was fitted and for £28 quid or whatever it was worth it.

I must be having a bad day can you point out which number it is on the drawing on the eurospares link please and are these just clear film strips?

Guessing they don’t go round the entire whee arch just small ones for the line of fire from back of wheel? And it is front and rear that’s available?

cheers

You got these then Gaz? Any chance of a pic?
Got this one to hand just zoom in. I can take some more tomorrow if needed. I found the door one didn't quite follow the curve and the wheel arch one was wide. It went inside the door and into the wheel arch too. The sill one was fine. But for the money I am good with them. GT ones may be fine though. Guy responds to messages ok.

Ah hold on is that the PPF I can see covers a decent portion of the body works back of the door and to the arch?

So I was meaning anyone producing thin strips just to cover the 1cm strip of metal I’ve just had painted, where it does 90 degrees from the bodywork into the wheel arch

Door, arch and sill. My arch goes inside of the arch as does my sill one to cover the end of it.
If you just want to to do the inner piece of the arch I would buy a sheet, make a template and cut to suit. I doubt there is a pattern for that piece.
