Hi Chaps,

Thinking of getting some new centre caps for the GS but wasnt sure if these are the right one (I know Miles, you bought some of these recently, right?).

Are these the right items? http://www.eurospares.co.uk/searchResult_one.asp?S=209970&TM=3&TMo=496&TA=1&TB=28198

£9.06 each? I've heard different things, someone told me they were a couple of quid, while someone lese told me they were something rediculous like £30 a pop!

I'm after the centre caps with the red tridente on, to go with silver wheels.

Cheers

Cant you get them sprayed Woody , the tridents actually comne off the cap , prize them off gently with a razor blade , thats what my body shop guy did when he spayed the caps black , keeping the tridents chrome , real proffessional job he made and all part of the £50 per wheel refurb

Mine look ****, think they're plastic and something has reacted with the plastic to make it bubble round the edges. Shame as they look like a nice brushed ally finish on bits that havent been damaged. I'd guess someone used one of those ruddy ally wheel cleaners on them.

Take em to Perfect Paint in Tanners Drive Blakelands Andy , ask for Steve (the owner )and he'll make a brilliant job of them

I went for the GT caps Woody. Different finish to the GS ones I ordered previously. Mine are Mercury with silver Trident. Got them from GP Nottingham so I could check them before buying.

OK, thanks Miles. If you dont mind me asking, ball park, does £40 a set sound about the going rate?

Loz, checked mine, the trident is raised, part of the cap, not detatchable.

Hi Woody, yes that's about right with the VAT. The ones I ordered previously had a plastic rim around them and the finish was pretty average to be honest, whereas the GT caps have a gently domed and turned backing plate with raised Trident. These photo's show the difference...hopefully.......

Slightly off topic Miles , how are we getting on with the ball poilshed rims , did you manage to get them adequately refurbed to original finish

Slow going to be honest Loz, I'm going down there on Wednesday to see the results of the 'test wheel'.

Chaps,

Just to close this off, I spoke to Perry Chester at Graypaul Notts. I bought 4 x caps for £7.26 each, plus vat plus P&P - all up, it came in at just under £37. Turns out they are priced more competitively than Eurospares, so worth a call if you need anything.

Cheers
