WINDOW DROPPING ALL THE WAY DOWN WHEN OPENING DOOR

After spending about a year on and off fixing my drivers door window regulator (as it kept stripping crown gears ) my passenger door now drops all the way down when opening the door. ( instead of just a fraction to clear the weather seal )

Im assuming that is a micro switch ? But does anyone know which one it is ? Is it the main one on the window regulator mechanism ?

You’re exactly right that it’s caused by the micro switch failing. It is, indeed. The one on the regulator assembly that’s there specifically for the purpose of dropping and raising the window a small amount when the door is opened and closed.

This is a common issue on our cars.

I don't know .It's been there since the wife left . It's quite heavy . I use it to bang clothes flat . It work really well.
