Windscreen Washer bottle filling

Is it me or has anybody had trouble filling the windscreen washer bottle on a 3200? - its the world smallest filler neck, near the engine bulkhead on the nearside but try as I might I have to dribble water in so slowly it takes an age to even come close to filling.
I cant really see where the pipe goes or find the plastic bottle to check for leaks or kinks in the pipe.
Any help or pictures would be appreciated.

Yes, its a nightmare.

You will see there is a filter in the neck that you can pull out, but it does not make much difference.

It seems to be a air trap issue, what I do is get the hose and set it to dribble then with a hoselock attachment twist nosel shove it in the filler neck and leave it whilst I was the rest of the car.

The 4200/GS looks like the same filler neck but does not have the same 3200 issues.

That is bonkers! - your right about the filter, makes no difference and with holes that big would only stop house bricks, i doubt anything that big would get down the hose pipe.
good excuse to spend several hours washing and polishing the car

"Yes love - wont be long - just gotta fill up washer bottle"...............3 hours later..........!

I bought a funnel!

Cut the neck down so it doesn't foul the filter and job done.

I did that Miles, then it just p!ssed out the bit between the funnel and filler neck.

Hi Matt, I found a funnel that, when the neck was cut down, fitted snug inside the filler. Before that I was using a cheap plastic push-on watering can rose from which I removed the front mesh. This also pushed snuggly inside the filler neck. Cheers, Miles.

same issue, tried the funnel, nothing helps.
I do have the filler pipe off my old Alfa 166, which has a built in breather. Might have a go at fitting this one.

Bit tight in there though...........................

I feel guilty now, had my car 7 months and have not filled up the washer yet, don't think I am using the car enough!

.... or dismantle the front end and fill it from the tap in the kitchen.

Driving from Essex to Buxton between Christmas & New Year I drained the washers twice... & it was only a 3 hour blast!!! Lights on, foggy & spray! **** those headlight jets drink the stuff....

If it is an airlock, try sticking a straw down the filler neck next time you fill up, you never know, it might just work.

I've just come across this thread whilst trying to search out information concerning the location of the bottle & pipework.

I spent a while filling mine today and after half an hour, I stopped figuring it must be full or thereabouts. Soon afterwards, I heard a suspicious dripping coming from around the bulkhead / towards the back of the osf wing followed soon afterwards by some water dripping out around some plastic undertray just at the bottom of the wing. There is clearly a leak, split hose, rodent damage (I do live on a farm with a grain store!). It has not done this before and I suspect it was only because the bottle was filled right up but has anyone come across this? It looks a very tricky area to tackle and am thinking I should probably leave alone and run on a half empty bottle but if anyone has an similar experiences or can share some knowledge, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks all

Are there headlight washers on the AC? if these are disconnected or split it will empty the washer tank, I know as I got soaked taking mine apart!

Oh dear! And no Newton, there aren't any such luxuries on the 3200, not even the AC. I still have a cassette player in mine

Tried the washers yesterday and just heard the whirring of the washer pump. Added water painfully and it seemed like there was plenty in the bottle but still no water from the jets. Blockage? Cannot see where the pipes run at all!
