Hi. I had a 1974 Merak. Be aware of rust, although all the trim is stainless. The early ones had a Citroen derived interior with oval dials, later ones shared the dash with the Bora. All shared the infamous Citroen hydraulics, including the button brake, although a pedal actuated it in the Maseratis case. Most had cloth or velour trim, although restored cars mostly have been redone in leather. A very pretty car, but by no means quick, my wife's Volvo was faster! It's reasonably straight forward to work on , although it's a transaxle with inboard discs. The hydraulics have plenty specialists who can help with replacement spheres and the like. Good luck in the search.

Hi Nick, Welcome to the Forum! Hope you are well. Quite a few ex TVR owners on here. I loved both my TVR’s and mainly enjoyed my time on the TVR / Cerbera section of PH.

Great choice on the Merak and good luck with the search.

Jules.
The same Cyclone from the good old Cerbera war days on PH? Involved in the whirlwind induction with Jules?

Defitely going to hold on for an SS and the magnificent extra 30bhp :) I think the Merak pace may be a bit of a shock so trying to find garage space for the TVR rather than sell

I would keep the TVR too, very different.

Yes same one. Seems like a distant memory, but great progress made with the Cerb regardless of which camp, but one or two spoilers always made it controversial, when actually we were all aspiring towards the same goal.

Still absolutely love the Cerbera and I am sure at some point I’ll have another.

All the best with your venture into the world of Maserati, this is a great forum with lots of information, as well as balanced views and the occasional touch of humour.

I had an early 4.2 Cerbera, I loved it, akin to driving an uxb ! Of all my previous cars, that and my Lotus Europa I would buy back.

Fellow Trevor owner here! Has a TVR S1, V8S, Griff 400 and finished with a Griff 500 between around 1997 and 2005. Loved all of them and enjoyed the enthusiast camaraderie not dissimilar to that enjoyed with fellow Maz owners right here and when spotting one on the road. Think the Merak is a great looking Maz but no idea what they’re like to own but go for it!

Wow that one looks Stunning and in my old home town and I never saw that when living there.
Uber Cool looking for sure.
It sold this week on 'The Market' auction site for £42250, started out at £72k from the vendor in WsM and then failed to sell at Silverstone auctions in the summer with a reserve of about £55k. I think the mileage killed it a bit plus the fact there is virtually no history since the restoration in 89/90. Does look gorgeous though. The LHD blue one went for £45K on the same day. I must admit I've taken a bit of interest in Meraks lately as a more affordable and realistic alternative to my Bora or Khamsin fantasy.
