First year for this but it looks like it might be a good event.

As I posted on the 2021 Events thread, I've enquired about the car club displays. They want at least 5 cars there each day from 8.30-5.30 (4.30 on Sunday) at a reduced cost of £10 per ticket. Alternatively, you can display your car but the timings are the same and the cost £15. You won't be allowed to leave during the day. Day tickets to just turn up are £20 each.

I don't think I want to commit to being there all day but it does like there's a lot going on so it might not be an enormous hardship (if I can persuade H of that) so I thought I'd put it out there and see if anyone else is up for it.

Looks a good event potentially, especially now it looks more likely to be going ahead, agree that the restrictions on display cars not being allowed to leave is a bit odd, unless it's a difficult site to move vehicles round?

It's increasingly common on health and safety grounds to not have cars coming and going amongst the general public/pedestrians.

It is a PITA though, and my other half invariably wants to leave early, and tbh, I usually do too. Full day is too much for me.

However, most let you drift away mid afternoon.

(In my view, if you're providing the entertainment, you shouldn't pay much for the privilege; for context, I'm driving at Supercarfest for free, but admittedly with higher cost and risk than pulling up in a car park).

...oh, and it's 2 hours or so travel each way, so 0600 start and 2000 to get home isn't going to work.

This is only a few minutes drive from me, and it has never happened before, therefore all the pictures are library ones.
It was originally to take place for the first time last year, but was cancelled of course.
Last year they were basically taking the **** on ticket cost, pricing like the FOS with nothing to back it up. A family of four for 3 days was literally like £500, too rich for us.
It appears to be now £75...
Sure we will now go if it goes ahead.

Totally agree.

And again.

Though how on earth they could actually prevent you leaving would be amusing to test.

As above more and more events were starting to ask display cars to stay all day both from an exhibit perspective but also on H&S grounds reducing the number of cars moving around where people are walking around but even with these restrictions leaving mid afternoon seem to be the norm. June sounds a bit early to have lots of people together even as there lockdown restrictions ease.

Personally, other than LM24, I am not planning to book any events pre July and even that date might be optimistic.

another factor in 2021 could be cars moving might cause spectators to bunch up , we'll be social distancing for a while yet so any event will have to plan for that

I'm curious, are these due to people actually being hit, or a perceived risk ?

I would suspect this is perceived but I know with events I have been involved with one of the questions we have been asked by liability insurers is will cars be moving whilst spectators are on site.

Could also be a desire to put on a good show - if people are paying to get in, it would be disappointing to discover empty car club stands at 2pm because everyone had left.

I’m up for this. I’m local to area yes I’m from Yorkshire, and despite that am up for camping there, mainly because IMHO events like this (well, any events actually) aren’t the same without alcohol consumption, which gives a problem driving home. Seems there’s a site on-site anyway.
Looking at the website they talk a good game anyway. Count me in if anyone’s taking numbers

I think we might pop along for one day. What are people's thoughts about which day they are interested in?

I don't mind the all day thing, especially with parting with that cash as a Yorkshireman ;)

Sounds like a good day out but it will be weather dependent for me - my car leaks and I don't have a trailer to haul it to shows

I'm going on Sunday.
It's been stripped back on numbers attending, no live stage music now, and the local council are insisting all attending have proof of a resent covid test/or carried out on arrival with a 30 min holding area.
The roads around the area are now all closed and they are prepping for the hill climb.
It won't be as originally planned for sure, but I feel I must support as I can walk to the event.
No point in running up the road in the Maserati as will only end up parking in a field not the show ground.
Just hope it's a success so hopefully a proper event can happen next year.
