As well as the two GS Richard has for sale, this has popped up on Piston Heqds...makes Richards cars look like a bargain.

Same spec as mine and close to Matts' - Get one while you can (under £40k)

That's the one that's been for sale for a couple of years, it was elsewhere for a while, think it was the Ripley Carriage Co, and has a partial Hong Kong history. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with but it has been for sale a long time.

It's been £34990 since I listed mine a month back, it's still that price. Has anyone viewed it? It's been for sale for about two years now between Ripley and Furlongers, I'm aware it has a HK history but what's stopping it selling???

Humidity is the Big problem hence the world's lowest mileage GS for sale with my old employer Winger Maserati in Auckland has been totally resprayed and retrimmed.

Small market and GS bought by people in the know. People in the know buy from known and trusted sources. Furlongers knows as Ferrari specialist. Unless cheaper than you or Nareman, prospective buyer will pay you that sort of money rather than them. Short answer.....too expensive. lol
Was this not the car Furlongers advertised at one price but someone on here spoke to them saying too expensive and they dropped the price?

Well spotted, that will be rusted right through and need new metal cutting in. It's not that bigger job on a black car with a skilled painter.

The rust below the light is not a bad thing, it's a known issue.

It's unfair for me to pass judgement on the condition of the car as I haven't seen it.

As others have said these cars require constant maintenance. If it hasn't been kept on top of these cars can look tatty fast.

Thankfully this is good for the enthusiast cars we all mingle with as they tend to be the best examples as others offer and swap advice to obtain perfection.

For a dealer expecting full retail price that should be sorted before advertising in my opinion.

Mine had the same issue, under both rear lights right (more central) where the bumper rubbed (through paint, primer galv), with the bumper removed it was a minor repair and blends in well and has not come back in 3 years.

The trouble is if you see rust there you will start looking very closely everywhere else.

I am always surprised that dealers at this level don't prep cars properly. If you want top money put in a bit of effort but I guess it depends on what they bought it in at and what profit margin they want to achieve.

I agree Andy. Would I spend near top price on a car showing rust? Doubt it very much. For a couple of hundred trade price they could have this sorted to show the car properly and I would be thinking if they have not bothered fixing that, what else have they not bothered with?

As you and I both know Andy to get a car in top condition takes time and effort something a dealer will struggle to do in a few weeks of ownership if they buy poor examples.

There are two other reasons dealers don't over prep:

-it is something to offer in when they negotiate with a buyer; and
-if they don't retail the car and thus have to trade it on, they will get little value for this work.

I agree that for a specialist car like a Maserati this is the wrong approach but dealers in the main think the same way irrespective of what they are selling.

Is this the ex Malborough fuji GS that has been for sale at various garages over the last 3 years?

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707257710275

The agency is based in Hertford - certainly sounds like the same car they had for sale last summer. I think it was up at about £32K-ish then. I tried to arrange a test drive - several times in fact but nothing came of it. They were pleasant enough on the phone but arrangements were altered, cancelled, etc..

Sounds like it is Peter, mileage is right, I looked at it in detail and even took it for a test drive, it was up for £25,999 then and that was £3-4K too much last year this time. There was much wrong with it, not least no remote or button boot release and someone had lost the boot lid lining!

This was over at Prestige in Slough, basically DL Swindon took it after the owner perished (was Dem's neighbour) and Prestige underwrote it far too high so had all his money in it. Would not budge on £25,500 so a no go as it was worth £22,500 max in that condition. Given a year I'm sure it will have been passed around and GS prices have strengthened. I just think it owes too many too much to be let go for the right money. It could on the other hand be another car altogether.
