There we are, cracking along - three questions answered this week already!

I agree that there should probably be a time limit, I would suggest giving clues after 24 hours and the answer after 48.

Part of the problem is that if you have no idea, you can't really play, and if you just know the answer, it seems a bit pushy to just give it. That's why the ideal quiz question is one where you don't know the answer right away, but you can figure it out if you think about it. There was a good one like that in the pub quiz last night.

My favourite questions are the 5 questions that are linked and the link not answers to the 5 questions is what is needed. SPUK sets them most often

Now why didnt i think about the answer being revealed on the 2nd day after setting the question when i started the thread. :)

Oh wait a minute. I did !

apologies for the delay computer issues today. Zag seeing as you requested / like these so much. 5 questions to give you clues. The 6th question is the answer I want which is what is the connection :-

Clue questions :
1. Which actor starred as Hawaii based detective Magmum PI?
2. Which town in Cornwall has become famous for the number of artists who are based there because of its light?
3. Which famous TV chef has claimed to have played professional football for Glasgow Rangers FC?
4. In the Thunderbirds TV series, which son piloted Thunderbird two and dressed in yellow?
5. In the TV medical/mystery crime series "Diagnoses Murder", who plays Dr Mark Sloan?

Actual question:

What is the connection between the clues in questions 1 to 5 ?

Remember something in the answer to the clue questions forms the link. Not necessarily all the words in the answers to the clue questions.

I will post a clue tomorrow if nobody has cracked it by then and reveal tomorrow evening if its still running.

1. Tom Selleck
2. Dunno
3. Gordon Ramsay
4. Virgil piloted TB-2 but he wasn't dressed in yellow, do you mean Gordon who flew (sailed) TB-4 but did co-pilot TB-2 (freaking love proper Thunderbirds, and still get a stalk-on when I see Tin-Tin). Hang on, need the toilet, back in 90 seconds.....
5. Lost interest now, going to sleep.....

What's a 'Magmum'? Is the answer a 308?

SPK is back - normal service has resumed

2. Would that be St. Ives? Not that I'm an arty-farty I hasten to add. An art teacher friend is always banging on about it.
Whereas a lion I painstakingly painted in the 2nd year was described as "having the qualities of a cornflake packet"
Seemingly it lacked depth! Norbury you old pi**-head - he had a cracking Alfa GT Junior though. All was forgiven.

Correct so far Virgil had a yellow sash and yellow trim on his hat

St. Ives is correct.

So its just clue question 5 and the connection or just the connection if you have worked it out already.

Number 5 is Dick Van ****.

Tom and Dick were the two tunnels.

Ives and Ramsey were both officer / pows.

Virgil was the cooler king.

The connection is The Great Escape.

Over to you for the next question.
