.........and be half the fun!!!

P

Frank, afraid I must disagree and although I wish I could say that the 159 was more fun I can not...I've driven the 159 and many 3 series and until Afla do the right thing and go back to RWD then it will struggle to compete with a RWD car for fun......The 159 isn't as much fun but what it does do is make you feel go knowing you didn't follow the rat race and have one of the most beautiful cars in its class that will bring a smile to you face everytime you look at it and get in it.

Het I know where there is a lovely E39 M5 for sale for 10k with only 57k on the clock...That would surely do.

Agree Adam great value but the only thing with your 20k Alfa is it will be worth a lot less just driving it away unfortunatly.....

you can get a decent 159 3.2 V6 for under 20K, great value.

And thats the true point of why the 159 wins out.....................if you have a budget.............you can't go for the twice the price car, simples.....thats one of the reasons we are all into our 3200/4200s....due to affordability and thrill per £ and exclusivity, much the same for the 159!

I do agree Frank.....159 is the one but the good engine ones just need to come down in price as they are currently still on the slippery depreciation ladder.....

Yup...always a concern with Italian cars....but on looks alone......simply best in class by an Italian kilometre.....power per pound........wow!

Sure, the depreciation will be the killer.......................ultimately!

also aren't Alfa petrol engines not very good on fuel, i have heard the 3.2 does about 23 mpg, that is quite poor.

.....................and the 4200s....not much more than 17.........so we makes our choice and live with it..............................

Guys

Owned a 159 for a year or so and it just didn't do it for me. I've had about a dozen Alfas over the years and it was the least involving one I've ever had. Although beautiful just doesn't have the excitement and "Alfaness" of a 156 or the stuff before I'm afraid. Undoubtedly better built but if that's what you are looking for why buy Italian anyway?

Like the Brera and Spider (also too heavy!) its an Alfa for someone who would normally drive a Beemer or Audi but wants a bit of perceived "Italian soul".

I'm a big Alfa fan but not the 159/Brera/Spider - looks aside!

Mito is a good fun little Alfa though!

Cheers

Also what i dont like about the Alfa V6 anymore is the engine is now boring when you open the bonnet.

Too true Adam.

Top one reminds me of the couple of 166's I had a few years back.

Emmissions targets I would imagine Adam.

Maybe also production costs as they are now using the same unit as in other cars we wouldn't want to mention on a Maser forum!!
