05 GS Coupe Window Release Question/Issue

Hi all - not sure if anything has been posted before about my Q.
My 05 GS coupe drivers side door handle used to trigger the window to have it immediately drop (the usual 1/2 inch or so) with just the slightest of upward lever action. I have noticed of recent a delay with the window dropping i.e. now dropping as I'm actually pulling the door open. It's as if a trigger switch is not engaging quick enough. Hope that makes sense - any ideas/help would b appreciated. Thanks - Ed

I suspect that the micro switch is worn and the trigger is not activating it soon enough.

My driver window didn’t work when I bought my car. Had the microswitch looked at which fixed for a period until the regulator failed completely.

Neither job was cheap so worth getting someone who knows what they are doing to look at it and check everything is ok whilst the door is apart.

Not sure if the two incidents were related but I was left with that impression that they were.

Thanks for your prompt responses - I'll get it looked at - any idea if the micro switch is purchasable/replaceable on its own or do I have to buy "half a coupe" to get hold of one.

I replaced mine recently. Exact same problem. Its the switch that is mounted to the outer door handle.
You have to remove the outer door handle to replace. It is a bit fiddly to remove.
You can buy micro switches from electronic supply places. In Aus we have a place called Jaycar.
Get a switch that the mounting holes are in the same position, and the switch plunger is in the right location.
Remove the lever on the new switch and use the original lever to activate the switch.

Hope that all makes sense.

I forgot one thing.
You will need to get some really small diameter screws and nuts to mount the new switch, as the original is riveted on and you wont be able to reuse the rivets.
I got mine from a hobby store that specialized in radio control cars.
