i needed speed Dave...And a 3.2 brera in greece these days would cost a lot of tax.. This was the same as if i went for a Saab turboX. it would be good, but i would have made a crazy move..

Dave, just found this thread after our chat in the other thread. Car is lovely, does it have heated front seats?

With the removal of the DPF and cat does this make the car illegal and unlikely to pass an MOT or can this be got around?

Cheers
Simon

Yes she has heated leather seats. The DPF is not a Mot requirement presently but it will be in the next couple years although it will only be only be on cars that are produced from that year and not retro back dated. The Cat on the other had is a legal requirement although the tester can not remove any part of the car during the test, in order to see if the cat on the 159TI 2.4 is attached you need to remove the exhaust heat shield to see if the cat is attach. So catch 22 really they can't see it so they can't fail it for not having it attached. I do have the cat in a sealed bag though incase the new owner wants it. I also have the dpf in a bag if required.

She has passed an MOT in her current state no dpf and no cat with no problems at all. The last mot there were no advisors and I expect none this time around but as stated before I would be willing to put a new mot on her at point of sale even though one is not dude for about 3-4months.

As promised im uploading a small vid clip of the sound from my car at road running speed and a little clip of the 50-110 acceleration ( was in ermmm germany at the time.....)

you hardly notice shes a derv in my opinion ive timed it to be about 15 seconds from 50-110 for a comparison the BMW 330D does 60-100 in in about 11 seconds and the M3 E30 does it in 13seconds. if your quick on the start stop button in the player you'll see the 159 does 60-100 in about 10seconds. witch is about the same time as the 535d BMW the 540I M sport BMW , MAzda RX8 r3, Sierra RS Cosworth, and about 1 second slower than the Lotus Elise S2 111S, and Porsche Boxster.

she is a little quicker but i was taking it fairly easy due to the traffic.

due to the very heavy taxes for cars here, people are selling their 3.2 breras at prices between 5-8000 euros. Thinking of getting one and change the engine. My job from now on will be 100 kms away from Athens, so i will need another car waiting for me at the end of the railway station.
Could be a plan. Plan B could be a GTV. But still italian..

Therefore...i would need the webpage of your tuner...(not now, i'll tell yuo when the time has come).

Nikos some of the work was done by myself as well mind but sure you can have his webby when you want it ;)

Ive decided that after her run down to Germany with the QP im Not going to sell her!.
both she and the QP did the run down to the ring, about 1000kms around Germany and 2 days at the Ring without missing a beat.
with the wife having such a small car (C3) and the QP for mainly weekend and work driving we need a family car. the 159 is just that so i cant
find a good reason to sell her. Both my italian mistresses do such a hard run and both being so reliable with only needing new rubber when i got them home i Have to keep the pair of them.!

one of the other reasons ive decided to keep her is in this little clip from the autobahn in Germany when we drove down.
if you have young ones around i suggest you turn the volume down ;)
