Hi guys.
I have her e in Norway a very solid 1995 2,8 engine which was rebuilt by a weel known Norwegian classic Maserati specialist after a timing belt snap. The engine was never put back in the car as the owner lost interest in the car after he paid over 10.000 euro for the parts and work at the time and the car actually was bought by his son who went out of the country for years. The engine turns freely and can be put in any Ghibli or QP of the time and will be a perfect "spare engine" or even an engine for a custom car etc. I was planning to put into my 228i with a broken engine (bought it with coolant in the cylinders for 12 years!), but the 228 has the old style 18v engine and the QP and 1994 --> Ghiblis has this newer engine I am advertizing. These cars ar also worth much more so I find it better to sell it as is to a guy who really need it. I can have it sent anywhere or ship it from Sweden to the rest if EU for no VAT. The engine is NEW inside and machined and timed up etc. I checked the timing belt which was new and it it is fine, but I would put a brand new one when it is "on the work bench" anyways. Torbos has been checked a month ago by a turbo specialist workshop and they said they are totally fine. I also have the ECUs and a spare space saver wheel. + alternator, air filter boxed with new filters, clutch/flywheel. etc. The QP was driven 100.000 kms. in Austia before it came to Norway and was never registrated here. I bought the car to make it road worthy, but it had been sitting for years with salt and that damaged the underside of the car. I sold the car and gearbox, but kept the engine, as new refurbished engines cost a little fortune these days from Bill McGrath or Modena Tridente in Germany. The car has a near perfect green interior. And can be sold if anyone need it!
