2005 4200GT - How low should I go?

Thinking of getting my car lowered.

Just want a bit more involvement when driving enthusiastically and a bit less roll.

Looking at just lowering without replacing springs.

Any thoughts/advice guys?

Cheers

There is mention of it on the forum Dave.....not sure if it was truly a good idea.....sport setting does nothing for the car?

Did you get the DMS up-grade?

Thanks Frank.

Yes sport setting helps a bit but also visually the car seems to sit up a bit.

Good thing I gues is that I can try it and if it's not what I want can get it put back to where it was - labour cost only.

No haven't gone for the upgrade as I was waiting to get my mysterious stalling problem solved.

It is now so may revisit the DMS.

Cheers

Hi Dave, you're welcome to view and drive mine (soon), which is dropped 20mm on the standard springs. Your friend and mine also went to work on the Geo'.

Cheers, Miles.

i would go -30mm, will look pretty aggressive then.

Adam, If I go another 10mm to make it up to the 30mm you suggest, do you promise to pick up the costs of having the council remove my exhaust from the speed bump it will certainly end up embedded in, and then having Larini repair it, and then having my garage re-fit it?

Shouldn't be more than a couple of grand. :D

10 to 20 is enough I would say...as long as its set up properly you should have the best of both worlds. Noor is the chap to speak to I would..

Mine was 20mm front, 15mm rear but I did have FD springs as well which are a joy!

Not just labour costs though, you will need a full Geo when it's done and again if you reverse it. These cars are very sensitive. But it's a great mod, feels like a different car, everything is more positive.
