The A9 in particular is 100miles or so of average-speed-limited oft only two lane road. :)
97048 There is a special place in h*ll, reserved for the very worst of God's creatures
where their dangly bits will be roasted in eternal fire. All shown live on Twitch.
But for inventors of average speed limited roads, an even worse fate awaits. Involving every biting/stinging insect known to man, basting in honey and ........ I can barely bring myself to say it ........ the Major/Currie s*x tapes.

Welcome to the joys of ownership. And come the summer if you are ever in Worcestershire on a Wednesday maybe we'll meet up at a regular Wheels on Wednesday car meet.

Pickup up today. 1st 100miles or so (of 150 to partner's home) was good...
...then oh dear.

Shudder. Hmm, odd road surface I thought.
A little later again.
Then rather worse, engine light flashing.
Came and went.
Then I get a other warnings - suspension, ASR MSP.
Misfire gets worse. Just about got home.

It's going to Migliore for a service on Tues. But that might be on an AA wagon rather than under its own power.

And to cap it all my concentration on keeping it moving sapped that which should have been applied to avoiding the fence when parking. Deep scratches on rear wing.
****!

? Alternator
Loose Battery clamp connection ?
Poor sod... hope you get it sorted soon and at not too much £££
I think it'll be tonnes not pounds of money!
I measured the battery yesterday about 15mins after I got home and it was 13.3V engine off, healthy to me. Battery is almost new acc. to seller. And chuffing enormous it is :)
I'll check connections and volts again later and when/if running.

Melty coil pack content.
97693

AA tech sees a fair few engine ECU faults and in particular cyl 7.
One might hope everything else is consequential to this.
Engine starts & runs, or rather staggers.

I checked the battery terminals and the -ve was loose/tight enough to move by hand wiggle.
It is a little tighter now (thanks neighbour Ray for spanner loan), really difficult to get at and the nut is not in the best condition.
Measures 12.5V engine off so 'tis a good battery.

Does the QP not have a thumb latch on the negative a la GT? Much easier to undo, snug the nut up then re latch ;)

But if that coil is as broken as it looks.....

Worth checking what the battery dips to when cranking. A battery can show good voltage when engine off but dip way too low when cranking or under load.

what everyone else has said - plus, check battery several times as mentioned under load.
The QP will fire every error known to man when battery is dying or alternator lacking delivery. The coil pack looks proper f.u.b.a.r. phone your destination garage. If they are proper (maserati) specialist even money they will have a used spare. If not get them to order one, never harms to have one in the boot (for fault finding).

Spotted an interesting audio install in a 2008 prefacelift qp currently for sale on FB pages.

Has anyone got an idea of who is doing these installs with separate head units with what seems like a bespoke 3-d printed surround?

I am sure there was another post about 6 months ago where there was a pic of someone selling a QPV with an apple CarPlay system that had a nicely presented surround.

I am planning my QPV restomod and of course, ditching the old infotainment system is high on the list..

Anyone have an idea of what “services” I would lose? I.e. setting the time?

Anyone ever housed the infotainment system in the boot to preserve the original services.

All inputs welcome!

No thumb latch on mine. I'll be looking at easy(ish!) battery maintenance over the summer, some sort of quick disconnect and/or a float charger. As I live in the Highlands the car is likely to be laid up 'twixt Oct. & Mar.

The garage (Migliore in Bromsgrove) don't have coil packs in stock but have mentioned a used part if that's what's available. I'd prefer new if possible as coil packs do seem to be a (long life) consumable! I already suggested getting two so I have a ready spare.

Migliore update:
Melty coil had taken out bank fuse. Used part fitted.
All faults cleared now.
Battery clamp not just loose but broken. New part fitted.
Couple of other advisories:
Play in a/c compressor bearing. Chose to have this fixed. Doing it now (not expensive) avoids the whole thing expiring he says.
Top front suspension bushes becoming tired. Will do next time.
Minor corrosion on inside brake disc faces. Not surprising given low mileage and outside living.
Clutch wear 78%. Should see a year of my modest use. Likely do next time.

Not too painful. :)
