I literally cannot believe the price of these cars now. Ok- it’s not a great time to buy weather wise- but how much can you lose on this type of car now? They still make you feel much more special than they should at the price and they are very rare on the road. I don’t buy this ‘I just can’t stretch argument’. It’s false economy- safe 3k and get a car less well looked after or even dropping to a 4.2.

Some people can’t stretch, they’re already stretching to buy one. I agree that it’s silly to buy a £30k 4.2 when a little more buys an S. I think it’s best to save a little more if the extra can’t be found at the present time.

Life's too short to think "Oh shall I do this?", do it, you never know what's round the corner and are a long time dead. Get it, drive it, enjoy it and worry about bills if/when they come. A sorted car like this should be trouble free for a couple of years at least.

Gary looks good in a wig. Just be careful that his rare unobtainium doesn't make your man-maths calculator over-confident. Mine sometimes gets really enthusiastic.

I went to see this car, what a great, honest, genuine owner (and car). I have decided against stretching up past what I really want to spend, but not because of the car. It's a great example, someone is going to be very lucky, it's got a great, full history, and looks the dogs nuts. It starts on the button from cold, no unusual noises apart from the fact it has a cross pipe fitted, I bet his neighbours love him! If you are thinking about buying one of these, go and look at this one, you won't be disappointed.
