Hi All,

I'm looking for a 2010ish QP with less than 50K on it, really only want a GT, needs to be from a dealer as I need to Part ex etc.

Interior wise I really want Ivory, otherwise will look at Black or black and white combo.

Exterior wise would love Nettuno Blue or something interesting

Will go probably up to about £32.5K

Might be too much of a big if, but if you see any dealers with such then please let me know?

Many Thanks.

Regards,

John

Hope you get what you want but not a lot were sold by 2010 +-1 so there will not be a lot of choice.

Thanks for that Andy and the welcome, I'll check those links out later today.

Cheers Bob, I was originally looking for 2008 models which I would still consider but it looks like you get a fresher looking car with the 2010.

Hi, the QPV was facelifted in autumn 2008 so any build after that. Be aware though that you can get cars popping up which sat at the dealer for a year or so before they were registered. There are some very different grill designs on the facelift car and someone with more knowledge will explain which is which but I believe you can swap them out relatively easily.

Thanks Bob, that explains quite a bit why some 2010 don't look any different from 2008's, yes the grills do look different but good to know that they can be swapped out, there is also some subtle differences in the interior as well.

Face lift can't be swapped with pre-face lift - or vice versa without extensive re-working - been discussed over on Maserati life a fair bit, but preface lift horizontal slats can be replaced with pre face lift wire mesh

Indeed but I was meaning that the post facelift grills can be interchanged with one another.

Thanks for the mention gents, not found many QP's recently. I'm looking in to a couple this week though.

Well it appears I was very lucky or unlucky for my wallet, I was on the phone to Benzbavarian about a couple of other QP's when they mentioned that they had been offered a 2010 QP in Nettuno Blue with Ivory interior with Blue piping and with only 25K on the clock!

I know it wasn't a GT but was exactly the colour coordination that I wanted, so I have done the deal as I reasoned there wouldn't be many in this nice a condition and this mileage: -

I reasoned that as it was to replace my business car which was a Merc, thus the requirement for 4 doors and will still lift my spirits on a tiring day and as I own a 911 Carrera 4 as well, then I have covered the best of both worlds.

I really did think about the Granturismo, but eventually dispelled that thought due to practicalities, even though I think they are gorgeous.

Of course I could have waited for a reasonably priced GT, but I'm not sure I would have found one at the price I did and in this condition and mileage.

So having bought it, what should I look to do with regards to mild upgrades, such as a fruity exhaust to get the real tone of that engine singing or any other suggestions?

Thanks for everyone's input.

Hi, I'm sorry I missed that car on your site, it could have save me £7K especially since the car was in the combination I was looking for, I hope I haven't wasted yout time, your QP really does look lovely as well.

Congratulations on your purchase, it really does look very nice & I hope you enjoy it.

Regarding your exhaust mod, I think most people would agree that an x-pipe to take the place of your central muffler is the way to go. It's a fairly cheap upgrade but makes a world of difference. I'm not just saying this as I have one for sale (see thread http://www.sportsmaserati.com/showthread.php/19310-For-Sale-GranTurismo-X-Pipe-New) as I don't actually know if this would fit your car, but this pipe would make a world of difference

Have fun in your new car
